Read the headline of this Jerusalem Post article: “Iran Test-Fires Long-Range Missile.” Duck and cover, Newark! Stock up on tins of tuna, Atlanta! Good-bye, Gotham!
Now read the very first sentence:
- Iran conducted a test launch Tuesday night of the Shihab-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile, which is capable of reaching Israel and US targets in the region, Israel Radio reported.
Gee, funny how those intermediate-range missiles grow to long-range in an editor’s hands! Also note that U.S. targets in the region are just across Iran’s eastern and western borders, so the good people of Charleston and Baltimore can put down the Xanax – but not for long:
- The Shihab test was only “partly successful,” according to news reports. The nature of the difficulties was not clear. The Iranians have been working to extend the Shihab 3’s current maximum range of 1,300 kilometers.
Well, since 1,300 kilometers is 800 miles, I’d say we’re boned by next month at the latest.
Some country’s partisans really want us to attack Iran, and I’ll give you exactly one guess which one.
