Rep. Ron Paul

Republic or Empire? Easy Choice

[audio:http://dissentradio.com/radio/07_08_17_paul.mp3]

Presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul discusses the economic consequences of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the scars of PTSD and the administration’s betrayal of wounded veterans, how nice it would be if the War Party had to clean up the DU, why the U.S. should withdraw from Iraq as soon as physically possible, the role of the Military-Industrial-Complex in determining foreign policy, the likelihood and possible consequences of war with Iran for our troops in Iraq, our economy, and our liberty, why all the tax money spent militarily “securing” recourses is being wasted due to a mistaken and outdated mercantilist understanding of economics, the failure of the Congressional Democrats to check the war powers of the president, why U.S. intervention on behalf of Israel is bad for us, bad for them and bad for their neighbors, America’s deteriorating relationship with Russia and China and why the U.S. government should stay out of Darfur.

  1. That was a very informative interview. Scott was able to get the best out of Ron Paul. Obviously, when you compare Dr. Paul to the rest of the candidates (except Dennis Kucinich or Mike Gravel), he is the best. I just wish he wasn’t a Republican. I just dread seeing another Republican as president. Of course, I dread a Democrat as well. Go Ron Paul!

    1. Ken – I had to hold my nose and register Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul in my state’s primary. It only hurts for a little while. (Of course, I’ll re-register Libertarian or Independent AFTER the primaries.) Got to remember that they’re all in bed with each other.

      1. Hi Toni,
That’s what I’m planning to do as well. Simply, it’s so great to see a candidate who is willing to state what he believes. Ron Paul has been stating the same opinions for years.

    2. Hey Scott,

Any chance you can get Kucinich on the show? If possible, I would particularly love to hear an exchange between him and Ron Paul.

  2. The Terrorists Did Not Take Away Our Freedoms. The Terrorists Did Not Suspend Our Constitutional Rights. The Terrorists are Not Spying on Us. Bush Has Done All That, Not the Terrorists. He Does Their Work for Them. He is Their Tool at Destroying Democracy.

America is blind and can’t see what is happening to us.
Most people just don’t want to know the true. A lot of Americans live in their own little world and don’t care until something effects them because of our government then they wonder what is going on and it’s to late by then.

Have a Great Day! Vote Ron Paul The only intelligent canidate for President

  3. Ron Paul – The Uniter!

    FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry for the lack of substance in my post but that basically sums it up.)

  4. Ron Paul and Gravel should be a President and VP.
Obama and Clinton seriously concern me. Not because of the idiotic comments Obama makes, but because both are tools and will do anything for power and less than might dollar.
Unfortunatelly, both Ron Paul and Mike Gravel have no support. It’s better they have no support because if they did, and get elected, the you know who will take care of them, like they did for Kennedy and his nephew.
Clinton and Obama would wage even more wars, destroy even more human lives world wide. I wish our country was democratic, but right now we are Germany in 1938.

    1. I agree 100%. I like Gravel very much. He had the courage to read the Pentagon Papers in the Senate during the Vietnam War. Frankly, the man should be considered a National hero rather than a flake like he is portrayed in the corporate press. In particular, George Stephanopolus of “This Week” really bothers me in this respect. The man and his network are only concerned with the “major” candidates. Of course, once the “minor” become the “major” they will change their concern.

  5. WOW…what a breath of fresh air listening to Ron Paul. Listening to those in power speak about the issues can become so frustrating…never getting a straight answer or straight out lying!!! My husband is in the TX ARNG…he has already been deployed to Iraq for 12 months over yr and a half ago and there is already talk of another deployment in Feb or March 08. When will this war end? The Bush Administration and their fib tellers need to be held accountable. The Democrats need to realize that the American people want out of this war…quit trying to court the conservative and undecided vote…get a backbone and stand up for what is right…end this WAR!!!

    1. To Concerned Military Wife – my mother was a military wife in the 1960’s – my father was a marine helicopter pilot for three tours in Vietnam with a purple heart. Please learn about Dr. Paul and if you decide to support him. Pleae tell everyone that you know. I believe that he is the best potential “commander and chief” that our soldiers could have because he would never commit them to battle for anything other than the actual defense of the United States of America. He would never launch a pre-emptive war. He would never go to War with out a Declaration of War from the Congress and he would never go to war without a plan for winning the war and bringing the troops home.

There is hope for America – Ron Paul 2008

  6. what, no claims to quintuple the size of Guantanamo? I thought Ron Paul was a Republican?

Oh, that’s right, Ron Paul isn’t a clown putting on a show for his enablers, so he doesn’t have to say stupid s**t and pander to warmongers.

  7. I hope that Ron Paul is at least part of the solution. He will have one hell of a job if he gets in the white house. The damage done to the U.S. is on all levels and worldwide. He will have to work very hard for many years to get back to where the U,S, was prior to the 2nd beast of Revelation roaring about the earth like a lion. May God bless you Ron Paul,

    1. Workers and women should beware indeed! — of the federal government stealing the profits of their labor and of the federal reserve stealing the value of their money!

  8. This is our land. A land of peace and of plenty. A land of harmony and hope. This is our land. America. These are our people. The workers, the strivers, the builders. These are our people. The builders of our world, struggling, fighting, bleeding, dying. On the streets of our cities and on the far-flung battlefields. Fighting against the mutilation of our hopes and dreams. Who are they?
