Terrorist Cabal on Potomac?

I don’t know for sure that those two were with Hezbollah – or maybe Hamas – but you can’t be too careful in an area perfect for launching kayak attacks on the DC bridges. Unless of course the kayakers drowned before getting that far (as often happens in the Potomac above Washington).

Seems like half the people that throng near this vantage point speak foreign languages. I recognized an Iranian there recently – he was doubly suspicious, since he’s also on an Home Owners Association board. Bound to be some people passing through this area who are already listed on the Terrorist Watch List. Almost none of the cars in the nearby parking lot had yellow “Support Our Troops” stickers.

Where is Homeland Security Czar Mike Chertoff when you need him???

The above photo works better in the full size version here.

  1. Dear Mr. Bovard,
Enjoyed the beautiful picture of the Potomac River. After studying the tree stand across the river, believe I have picked out several Communists hiding from the law. Beware evil doers everywhere!

  2. Thanks!
Actually, the people on the other side of the river may have been unregenerate Confederates. It wasn’t that long ago that the Potomac was a national boundary, not just the dividing line between civilizations.

  3. I live about 100 miles up river (on the South Branch of the Potomac) in West Virginia. You would be surprised to know how many cows piss in that river.

  4. I’m surprised the Bush administration hasn’t classified such behavior as Lese Majeste towards the entire DC metropolitan area.

  5. Oh wow, you guys are so funny! This is such a hilarious situation isn’t it? You are so funny I am surprised the Tonight Show has not called you yet to hire you and write for Jay Leno!

You know what? 3,000 innocent Americans were burned alive (although some jumped a hundred floors) to their deaths. Do you think making fun of the threat of terrorism is the right thing to do? I suppose the family members of the victims would find this to be really funny wouldn’t they? Do you know how many terrorist attacks have been planned and (thankfully) foiled by good police and intelligence work since 9/11. Does the name Richard Reed ring a bell? How about the “Fort Dix Six” does that ring a bell with anyone. How about the plot to blow up all those British Airways jets in the summer of 2006? You think this is some kind of joke? Some kind of laughing matter? How about all the innocent commuters in Madrid or the ones in London on 7/7/05? They are all dead now and their families are still grieving. Do you think they see this as a laughing matter? When are people like you going to wake up and see that the threat we are facing is all too real.

    1. Of course we know the threat is real. Dozens, maybe hundreds, of men using World War II-era rifles and bombs made in their kitchens ten thousand miles away, are plotting even as we speak to take over America! Then the world, followed by the solar system. Why shouldn’t America shiver? We, whose military spending matches that of all the rest of the earth; we, masters of sky, water, space, and land, should gladly give up every liberty and cower in our homes heated with burning copies of the Constitution in order to thwart this awe-inspiring foe!

Surely, as Oliver North and other brave and intelligent neocons have argued, al-Qaida poses the greatest threat to America ever. More than the Japs and Nazis, more than the Commies with all their nukes, even more than the British empire in 1776. Against our current foes numbering in the tens and hundreds, armed with the very latest 1947 hardware, we are well-advised to betray everything America used to be about, slaughter innocent civilians of other countries by the hundreds of thousands (or millions, if Hillary has her way), and in every way act as cowardly knaves.

      Chicken Little was right.

    2. Tim R,
What the Hell do you want this country to do? We have already killed at least a quarter million Muslims, violated all of the Geneva Convention guidelines as well as crap on those from the Nuremburg Trials. We have blown a trillion dollars abroad and almost as much here on this “Homeland Defense” fiasco against the threat of some guy on dialysis in some cave in Pakistan. The bs “investigation” of 9-11 has turned probably 50% of America into severe cynics. We have squandered any good will we had internationally what with Gitmo and Abu Grahib. And worst of all, we have an American President carrying on over in Israel like some mishuganah old bubbi just off the plane from Odessa. It is a wonder he didn’t kiss the tarmac as soon as he deplaned. Lord knows what this fit of tushi kissing is going to cost us next – at least another trillion dollar war. So what the Hell do you want?

      1. Richard Vajs,

First of all the bit about Bush kissing the Tarmac when he landed in Israel had me laughing. That would have been a funny site. But anyone on to more serious stuff….

You asked “What should we do?” Well, here is a list for you
1.how about we recognize who we are fighting. We are fighting Islam, that’s right Islam. Not all of it but the radical elements of it and its time to stop being so politically correct and admit it. Also, Stop calling this the “war on Terror” that is ridiculous since terror is just a tactic. Its the War on ISLAMIC terror
        2. Immediatly stop all immigration by Muslims for a period of at least five years, thereafter, we carefully and diligently scrutinize any Muslims who want to come to the United States. Immediatly deport any and all Muslims that are not US citizens and have any connections, whatsoever, to radical groups
        3. Let’s cut off all diplomatic relations with that disgusting regime in Saudi Arabia Order the Saudi’s to stop promoting radicalsim or we will send a few cruise missiles into their palaces to get our point accross
        4. Go to the United Nations and get a resolution to declare that teaching little Muslim children to hate and kill is, in effect, illegal child abuse and put pressure on those nations to put a stop to it
        5. Order Iran to stop enriching uraniam or we will be glad to help them to stop
        6. Pull out of Iraq and let them kill each other if that’s what they want so much
        7. Take some of the troops that we pulled out of Iraq and re-double our efforts in Afghanistan, finish the job there
        8. Order Pakistan to fully cooperate and help us find Bin Laden or we go in and do it anyway.
9.Have the CIA jam all the television, radio, and internet broadcasts in Muslim countries and pump in pro-America, pro-West propaganda so these people can start to be de-programmed.
        10. No more appeasement! Act like Churchill and not Chamberlin. Stand up for Western Civilization and stand strong against Muslim barbarism.

Ok, that is my list of what to do. And now I will wait for everyone to attack me and chew me out. Well, at least I have some ideas. What do YOU propose we do?

        1. Tim R,
I have only one requirement for this country – start acting like the world’s leader, instead of like Israel’s jailhouse bitch. Do you have any idea how disgusting Bush’s behavior over in Israel was? There we have our president acting like a geriatric groupie who finally gets invited to a hotel room party with the Rolling Stones. Skirt up, panties off even before the first beer is served.
Seriously, I want the US to recognize the plight of the Palestinian people who have had their homes and their water sources confiscated from them, their crops destroyed, their children attacked, their freedom to move about curtailed, their livestock poisoned by the “settlers” who also like to dump their raw sewage on Palestinian land. The only reason there are “radical Muslims” is because America has these “radical delusions” about Israel. Hell Susie Roundheels (aka George Bush) in a fit of romantic hysteria even called Israel “the Chosen People”.
Tim R, if you hate the Muslims so bad, just go shoulder your rifle and join the IDF. I won’t get in your way or in the way of your fellow Zionists or John Hagee and his insane Christian Zionists. I help clear a path. Go march over there and take care of business. Just leave me the hell out of it

        2. Thanks for the suggestion Richard but I will not go over and join the IDF for one reason and one reason only: I am an American and will always be an American. This is my country, and I love it dearly. Do I support Israel too? Sure. But my full faith and allegience is to this country, the good ol US of A. You and I might disagree on many things but I think we both care a lot about our country.

PS: I concur with you that the Palestinians have suffered and Israel has done some pretty bad things towards them. However, where we disagree is this: I think any short of the complete and utter destruction of Israel will not satisfy the hard-line Muslim radicals (and even that would not satisfy them because then they would want to come after the rest of western civilization that they see as morally depraved, irreverent, and decadent.

        3. Tim R,
If you agree with me that the Palestinians have suffered and that Israel has done some pretty bad things to them, how can you then conclude that treating the Palestinians with some justice would threaten the existence of Israel? If the only way Israel can survive is for Israel to be a racist, war monger of a nation that abuses Arabs, then why does the World need an Israel? Actually, I think that the only long term guarantee for Israel’s survival is for it to include the Palestinians as full fledged citizens of a secular Israel. At 60, it is time for Israel to grow up and learn to share; Jews are not entitled to have a homeland wherein they can act criminally just because they are Jews. If Israel can clean-up its act, I have no problem with America defending Israel. I just find it offensive for America to be defending a racist, trigger-happy nation of land thieves. You and I both know that this “radical Islam” business is strictly bs.

        4. “…“What do you think will happen,” I asked the former general, “If no Israeli government ever emerges strong enough to take such a path?”

“Oh, I think we’ll end up like the Crusaders,” he answered. “It might take some time, but just like them, in the end, we’ll be gone.” It was startling at the time to hear any Israeli, particularly a military man, talk like that. Of course, then as always, the Israel lobby in the United States loved to depict embattled Israel as only one step from annihilation by bloodthirsty Arabs unless the United States offered unconditional diplomatic support and limitless subsidies.”

  6. How about 500,000 innocent Iraqi children ,worthy cause!,dead.
How about the million or so Iraqis dead.
How about the countless Lebanese,Palestinians,Afaghanis etc killed .
How about the invasion and the destruction of Iraq!
How about the plot to invade and destroy Iran.
How the Libyan jet blowen uo over Sanai!
    How about the Liberty!

  7. So because of 9/11, we are obliged to swallow the government’s BS in perpetuity?

And anyone who isn’t perpetually frightened isn’t patriotic?

  8. Tim R.

Your catalog of crimes is not impressive compared with previous state-actor threats to America, or stood against the hysteria we are supposed to be perpetually feeling. Nor do the casualties amount to much more than chicken droppings compared with the mountain of misery that interventionist US foreign policy has piled up since 1945.

    We’ve got off lightly.

The last time I checked, America had not experienced a serious assault of a terroristic kind for almost seven years– and the circumstances of those two were murky.

The best reason to laugh at the War on Terror against the Big Scary Islamofascist is the growing suspicion that he barely exists as a threat– except in the minds and mouths of paranoids or folks with an agenda. So keep your squealing and kvetching where it belongs, in the padded cell. We’re pretty tired of it.

    1. Yes, David Banks, that is the perfect canard isn’t it? America has done some pretty awful and inexcusable things since 1945, therefore, there is no real threat from Islamic terrorists and even if there is, we can’t defend ourselves since we did bad things too. Yeah, um, that sounds real logical to me.

  9. Tim R.

PSL Like many brainwashed “patriots” you say that “3,000 Americans” died on 9/11. Check the nationalities of the casualties. They vary.

  10. Cows pee in the Potomac? Gosh, that’s terroristic for sure. The “nobles” downstream will get cow-cankers. Speaking of cow-cankers, would the actions of those aforementioned peeing cows be construed to be ‘homegrown terrorism’? We’d better check with the Queen of Cow-Cankers Jane Harmon (Dummy-Calif). She’d know for sure if those peeing cows weren’t up to some kind of heinous terrorism peeing.

    1. I know what the D.C. cops would say to the pee-protesters: “Yer in trouble now!”

  11. Okay, I just got off the phone with famed forensic veterinary pathologist Dr. Gurn B. Agrarian. I asked Dr. Agrarian about the potential for human harm associated with cows peeing in the Potomac and downstream risk. Dr. Agrarian assured me that “yes indeed” there are numerous “risks” associated with cows peeing in the Potomac. Dr. Agrarian maintains that “cows peeing in the Potomac can and do, produce a particularly virulent form of ‘bovine psychosis’ that is associative with insane politicians and the loony legislation that spews from Washington D.C..” Dr. Agrarian further maintains that “given enough time, Congress will be thoroughly contaminated with ‘bovine psychosis’ and these United States will feel the effects of that contamination for many years to come.” Now, Dr. Agrarian is an “expert” on cow pee and the lasting effects from that pee. Dr. Agrarian wrote the definitive book on the cow pee subject and Dr. Agrarian is quoted at length in many ‘knowledgable’ cattle circles. Dr. Agrarian’s book is titled, ‘Cows That Pee and the People That Eat Them’. You can find Dr. Agrarian’s book at just about any IFA outlet.
Anyway, Dr. Agrarian maintains that Jane Harmon (Dummy-Calif) evidences the “classic symptoms of ‘bovine psychosis’ and America shouldn’t really take what she may have to legislate too seriously.” So there you have it and from an ‘expert’. Dr. Agrarian also can’t figure out why given the outbreak of cows peeing in the Potomac, someone hasn’t armed Dick Cheney with a shotgun to “once and for all” finish off those “peeing in the Potomac cows!” For goodness sake, Cheney IS from Wyoming and we all know about Wyoming and cows.

  12. Statistically, one has much more to fear from government thugs than terrorists. Or the commute to work for that matter.

One wonders if the Tim R. troll also gets hysterical over the chance, however remote, that it may one day get struck by lightning. What a bedwetter.

Wake me up when the “Islamofascist” Naval Armada is anchored off our shores and poised for invasion.

  13. Rape, massacre, transfer :

According to your new findings, how many cases of Israeli rape were there in 1948?

“About a dozen. In Acre four soldiers raped a girl and murdered her and her father. In Jaffa, soldiers of the Kiryati Brigade raped one girl and tried to rape several more. At Hunin, which is in the Galilee, two girls were raped and then murdered. There were one or two cases of rape at Tantura, south of Haifa. There was one case of rape at Qula, in the center of the country. At the village of Abu Shusha, near Kibbutz Gezer [in the Ramle area] there were four female prisoners, one of whom was raped a number of times. And there were other cases. Usually more than one soldier was involved. Usually there were one or two Palestinian girls. In a large proportion of the cases the event ended with murder. Because neither the victims nor the rapists liked to report these events, we have to assume that the dozen cases of rape that were reported, which I found, are not the whole story. They are just the tip of the iceberg.”

According to your findings, how many acts of Israeli massacre were perpetrated in 1948?

“Twenty-four. In some cases four or five people were executed, in others the numbers were 70, 80, 100. There was also a great deal of arbitrary killing. Two old men are spotted walking in a field – they are shot. A woman is found in an abandoned village – she is shot. There are cases such as the village of Dawayima [in the Hebron region], in which a column entered the village with all guns blazing and killed anything that moved.

“The worst cases were Saliha (70-80 killed), Deir Yassin (100-110), Lod (250), Dawayima (hundreds) and perhaps Abu Shusha (70). There is no unequivocal proof of a large-scale massacre at Tantura, but war crimes were perpetrated there. At Jaffa there was a massacre about which nothing had been known until now. The same at Arab al Muwassi, in the north. About half of the acts of massacre were part of Operation Hiram [in the north, in October 1948]: at Safsaf, Saliha, Jish, Eilaboun, Arab al Muwasi, Deir al Asad, Majdal Krum, Sasa. In Operation Hiram there was a unusually high concentration of executions of people against a wall or next to a well in an orderly fashion.

  14. What a beautiful idyllic picture above! Oh, if only it did represent the imperial city of DC.

  15. That picture makes me think of how wonderful America could be if only the American empire would be dissolved. Just think of what could be done for the environment if all that money, time and energy didn’t go down the throat of that bottomless pit the military-industrial-congressional complex.

  16. How about that Bush? He goes to Israel and catches a bad case of Zionist fever. He avoids all contact with the Palestinians. Two days later, in Egypt, his heart “bleeds” for the victims which he has just so happily thrown under the bus. Is this guy certifiably insane or what? And what does that say about a society that doesn’t seriously question such absurd behavior? Prompts me to read a little about Nero.

    1. Bush lectures Arab world on political reform:

“…”America is deeply concerned about the plight of political prisoners in this region, as well as democratic activists who are intimidated or repressed, newspapers and civil society organizations that are shut down and dissidents whose voices are stifled,” Bush said.

“I call on all nations in this region to release their prisoners of conscience, open up their political debate and trust their people to chart their future..”!!!???

Earth to Bush,”Actions speak louder than words, what you do influence more than what you say”These rulers are only following your instructions”

You had no problem sending people to their tortuerers!

  17. Confronting Israeli Myth-Making:

“…the last several years of what is most often called “incitement” in Palestinian school textbooks have virtually all originated with an organization called the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace (CMIP), originally founded by a leader of the Israeli settlement movement. The organization has concentrated its efforts on translating and publicizing sections of Palestinian textbooks that CMIP alleges demonstrate that Palestinian children are being taught to hate Israel and seek its destruction and that supposedly show that the Palestinian curriculum encourages militarism and violence”

  18. lear k,

When I was in Israel and watched videos of little Palestinian kids dancing around and yelling about death to Israel and America, I guess those videos were fabricated by the Zionists right?
When I had glass bottles and fruits thrown at me by those peaceful Palestinians youths I guess that was all in my imagination as well.
