Iran’s Worst Barbarism: Honesty About Torture

The current government is Iran is a bunch of damn rascals and thugs, and there are boatloads of questions about the honesty of their last election.

The regime’s brutal crackdown on protestors reveals its true character. (But the Iranian government is not novel in this sense: the Syrians have been as brutal with their dissidents, and the Israelis have been more oppressive in Gaza).

What is even more shocking is that the Iranian government admits that it is torturing the protestors rounded up in recent weeks.

How can we ever trust a government that won’t lie about its atrocities?

No wonder so many Americans are convinced that the Iranian government is morally inferior to the U.S. government.

  1. So, the Iranian government tortures people, just like the U.S. Government does. In what way, therefore, could the former be considered "morally inferior" to the latter? In terms of morality, both are as inferior as they possibly can be!

      1. Absolutory! But because that is internet writing,
it is more kind to put something like a wry-grin mark (I cannot enter one here;).

  2. Not only do those gosh-darn Iranians refuse to lie about torture they won't invade other countries, station their troops around the world or overthrow American democracy! How can you trust or like these people!

      1. Christine– Over 1,500,000 Iraqies have been slaughtered by auithorizing/cheering obtuse americans.
282,000 fleeing Iraqies were slaughtered in 2 days during the 1991Desert storm bombings, highway of death
Recently, Thef Israel using USA military weapons killed 1400++ Palestinines and USa said nothing to stop it. Question 2u Christine, America believes that Israel is right all the time in any war crime–why is USA/Canada supporting Israel before UN investigation?
Seems you been in the Kitchen too long.Wake-up foolish lady–America has a serious problem–Criminal inborn behaviour as Israel does :^/

  3. Let us face it, Iranian "color coded revolution " was the legacy of the Bu$h cabal to the current US administration, which coincidentally was not stopped and or stood down by the same current administration.

Therefore giving rise to the questions; to what extent did the current US administration know about the color coded revolution? To what degree did the current us administration have any influence (if any at all) on the unfolding color coded revolution?

Has the failure of the covert ops in Iran has been understood; as the maturity of the Iranian public; whom did not pour out to kill the few traitors, and start a full skill civil war, for failing to have been swayed by the kabuki of the Green Movement? On the other hand the piss and wind cabal sitting in the other occupied territories (capitol hill) could have interpreted this failure as yet another mission accomplished, too?

However, the degrees of the transparency of the governments in action, favour the Iranian government that is far more open, and engaged in delivering less lies than their counterparts in the West, that in turn give rise to doubts about the veracity of the claims with respect to the Freedom Brand offered by the West.

  4. Should read;

Has the failure of the covert ops in Iran has been understood; as the maturity of the Iranian public; whom did not take out into the streets to kill the few traitors, and start a full scale civil war in the process, for failing to have been swayed by the kabuki of the Green Movement? On the other hand the piss and wind cabal sitting in the other occupied territories (capitol hill) could have interpreted this failure as yet another mission accomplished, too?

To make some sort of sense.

  5. Sadly, in reality there's no actual evidence of fraud in the elections. IranAffairs.com has compied the list of fraud claims, and matching counter-claims. The fraud claims look flimsy at best.

For example, the statistical study by Prof. Mebane at the Univ of Michigan which concluded there was fraud, relied on Benford's Law — which as IranAffairs.com points out, according to the Carter Center, is not a valid indicator of electoral fraud.

See IranAffairs.com for the full deal.

  6. Although torture is wrong in any case and by any means, there are a few fundamental differences:
-US tortures mostly 'the perceived enemies' who are actively seeking to harm Americans through violent means, Iran is torturing it's own citizens that are peacefully demonstrating against the vote rigging, demanding a re-vote.
-There is no way in hell that the level and nature of torture could be comparable
Besides, what does one have to do with the other? In Iran, it is very simple now. It's the coup regime against the Iranian people (either majority, or a significant minority if you believe the lying, killing bastards and their shameless supporters).

For those who claim this to be color-coded soft revolution. Here's my golden question:
Regardless of the nature of the protest, you are the IR government with 24 million votes. You are facing this major turmoil. But you have 2/3 of votes and means of running another vote, a simple yes/no on the issue. Why are you not running a simple re-vote, which you can be sure to confirm your great victory given that you control all instruments of voting and you are sure the (so called) foreign agents will not cheat against the 24 million. If you cannot do this to diffuse the turmoil, you are either 1) an idiot and an imbecile (who are not fit to run a country of 70 millions) or 2) are a lying, murdering thug and a thief. So tell me which one is A.N ? I tell you in case you are too dumb or pretend to be. He is a lying, sob thug, who is murdering his own people, and as such an idiot as well since we will know what happens to these people.

    1. The Iranians didn't have another election for the exact same reason that the United States has never had a re-vote for any of its presidential elections. And lest you think that U.S. elections haven't had serious turmoil, you should think long and hard about the fallout of the 1860 election.

    2. Baseless assertions, wild assumptions, followed with venomous denunciations, indeed the traits of primitives, whose weak reasoning, culminated in the fiasco of the colour coded revolution in Tehran, that so badly exposed the foreigners' assets among the neo liberal, and neo conservative operatives in Tehran.

By your suggestions, then it is ok to play the cup finals over and again until the most vociferous side has won, lest Freedom is no longer paramount and the oppressed losers have forfeited their human rights.
