Afghanistan bottom-line

“The entire COIN strategy [the COunterINsurgency strategy engineered by Petraeus and McCrystal et.al.] is a fraud perpetuated on the American people,” says Douglas Macgregor, a retired colonel and leading critic of counterinsurgency who attended West Point with McChrystal. “The idea that we are going to spend a trillion dollars to reshape the culture of the Islamic world is utter nonsense.” –The Runaway General, Stanley McChrystal By Michael Hastings, Rolling Stone, Jun 22, 2010 10:00 AM EDT

  1. So the "bottom line" is, a)- maximise profits; b)- squander the lives of America's service boys and girls; c)- lie about all of it; and d)- pretend that IF the administration repeats the drill over and over, at some point it will no longer seem insane? Ummm, is that pretty close?

    1. Ah yes, they are always"boys and girls", aren't they, whenever they are getting killed and mutilated. And the large number of civilians, including women and children, that the war machine murders are always "insurgents", or "terrorists" or this or that demonized populace who have traveled thousands of miles across the sea just to kill innocent American boys and girls.

    2. Don't assume that there's some big plan. One short term solution leads to one f'''' up situation which leads to another short term, panikcy, solution, which leads to another f'''' up situation, ad infinitum. That's the political history of the world. If you want progress, look at the history of science. The history of art, of course, gives pleasure.

  2. Well, for some people, war is fun. You can be seriously irresponsible, drink, screw, rob, kill. Genl. McC. leaves his wife at home, but I doubt he's sleeping alone. Perhaps he's been enjoying Uzbek harlots or bashi bachi parties, not to mention booze, reefer, opium, assorted other chemicals. He controlled other people's life and death. That's real attractive for some people.

  3. Colonel Douglas Macgregor, AUS (Ret.): "The idea that we are going to spend a trillion dollars to reshape the culture of the Islamic world is utter nonsense."

    Pure wisdom, that.

Colonel Macgregor, I can see you're an example of the old Army saying: "The best men in the Army are the colonels who don't make general."

    1. "The best men in the Army are the colonels who don't make general."

McGregor is a real aberration, as most officers with his point of view don't make it past Captain. The modern U.S. military has a way of "weeding out" officers early in their careers who don't tow the political party line and who refuse to take the "perfumed prince" career path.

      1. Actually that is characteristic of the whole System of Finance capitalism, public and private.

Deleueze and Guattari connect it to antiproduction and what they call the flow of stupidity.

That is not the only model but they all jibe in most of their key aspects.

    2. Repeating cliches, factoids, conventional wisdom, will serve you well in any organization, let alone in a total institution like the military.

    3. Especially since Islamic culture is basically the same as Protestant culture. Western and Middle Eastern civilizations are Siamese twins, much alike and unable to leave each other.

  4. The reason why I site this as ‘HIGH TREASON’ being perpetrated, is that these scummy vile zionist turds are undermining national security of the U.S. on purpose. There is no doubt they’re destroying us from the inside for financial reasons. it’s for profit. For the Rothschilds banking cartel, more adtroitly.

So, in all honesty, they need to be tried for that, and then HANGED FOR IT. Some imprisoned for life with no hope of parole. But if there ever was a time when CAPITOL PUNISHMENT was warranted and necessary, this is that time.

And they should truly not be allowed to pass go, or collect 2.3 trillion dollars any more, either!!

  5. "Since McChrystal took over a year ago, the Afghan war has become the exclusive property of the United States. Opposition to the war has already toppled the Dutch government, forced the resignation of Germany's president and sparked both Canada and the Netherlands to announce the withdrawal of their 4,500 troops. McChrystal is in Paris to keep the French, who have lost more than 40 soldiers in Afghanistan, from going all wobbly on him. "

So much for the coalition of the willing (and stupid). Too bad the American sheep don't stand up to this fucktard McChrystal. The brain-dead masses still believe that they are fighting for God and country. Morons.

I've got no use whatsoever for war-mongering fools that toss lives away like rancid butter. The guy is a walking train wreck. Anybody that submits to this monsters "command" is asking for trouble.

One day, McChrystal will be tried for high crimes and misdemeanors, if the bad guys don't get to him first. And I'll be glad. His kind are vile, disgusting, war-mongering bloodthirsty fools who believe the entire world should kowtow to their image and likeness.

Fuck that. Demigods are no different then anybody else. But when they fall, they destroy everything that they've created.
