  1. I think the ladies story was true in the sense that Sweden's laws and culture lead to many more rape allegations than anywhere else. The actual charges did not reference the condom, even though that seemed to be the ladies actual concern. While the assumption seems to be it was the women propelling this possibly with US interference, it seems it was the second prosecutor that was the force behind it for whatever reasons. For me the most lingering aspect of it is how quickly any US connection became proof of a CIA conspiracy. That view of the US will be very damaging in the future as normal people question if they should get involved with Americans for fear that they will be implicated in a conspiracy with the CIA. The Valarie Plame affair, subject of the current movie Fair Game, reinforces the notion that Americans abroad are likely doggy in some way.

Sweden tops European rape league http://www.thelocal.se/19102/20090427/

  2. If you wanna get a laugh , click on Bovards link the "project for a new American revolution " the "mentality " jumps out at ya …..lol,,,,and talk about "perforated condums " ,,that jailhouse photo of Assange , is an apt description of one .
I guess the moral of that story is… dont jump a Swedes bones when she's sleeping ,,,tsk, tsk , tsk .

  3. DAMAGE cyber WW3 result: 500k hurt diplomats worldwide. billion soldiers on the side line/out of business (and still insist it's not a war); final 200 nations restuctured. other side:few hackers political imprisoned/their parrents fined. After a short (for many long) war only 1 global transparent free society survives …..

How can a few wise leaders alone solve complex global issues pending ? People need to be involved/need same info on these complex issues to let our global society decide & survive.

We NEED transparency for our global society that we created an cannot control. To many crises.
We'd never gone to Iraq if we read the cables first?

its e-government(power) not e-commerce(money) that changes our world!
If democracy fails, the only solution is MORE democracy. The only way is UP.
This is Far worse for China, than the US. It's your Duty to spread your thoughts.

WL to much Change for Obama?
Know It's a hard path, but harder for our totalitarian enemies.

If democracy fails, the only solution is More democracy.
E-vote(power), not E-commerce(money) that changes our world, stupid! greets from citzen 434234243!

  4. cyberWW3 – Damage -yet to be seen / actual casualties in human life- yet to be seen [all stolen info has not yet been released How can a few wise leaders …? How can julian Assange solve complex world issues ? How can you and your cohorts ?
If Democracy fails , there will be no opportrunity for "more democracy " You're right about Iraq , but that is done , as for China , everyone knows and China dont care . Transparency , with disgression , transparency with responsibility , especially when you steal documents /info , that is a reationale that may be acceptable , but not one that Assange followed …..and from the looks of things neither does he in his personal life .

  5. So, no one’s been hurt except the people who should have known better and documented and diaried as diplomats should, and the, to be honest, stupid people at the US state dept, and the military, who apparently have secret documents on e-tap like some kind of soft-serve ice cream. No one’s been killed, because everyone had fair warning of the release of documents and scurried back under rocks like roaches.
It’s clear that the US state dept and it’s “diplomats” have about as much respect for democracy as they do fireplugs.
What’s ultimately clear is that ANYTHING Assange has been accused (and that’s all anyone has at this point) simply isn’t illegal in the US, and why he isn’t there, and won’t be visiting any time soon.

Just look at the Constitution regarding freedom of the press, and case precedent concerning consensual sex and withdrawing of consent.

As if there is “democracy” in the US to begin with, which is certainly a laughable thought for people in countries which are in fact more free and democratic societies, such as the UK, Japan, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, SWEDEN, Netherlands, Iceland, Austria, Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland,, Germany…. well, we all get the point.
