3 Cheers for Egyptians & Al Jazeera!

It is great to see so many people with the courage to risk all defying a corrupt, oppressive government.

It is great to see the party headquarters of a corrupt regime going up in flames.

And it is great to see American politicians squirming as the authoritarian tool they have bankrolled for 30 years totters and looks heading for a fall.

This is one of Al Jazeera’s finest hours. Their English-language coverage is superb.

While much of the American government has derided Al Jazeera for years, that network has actually been more forthright against oppression than has the U.S. government. Ahmed Mansour, the journalist who interviewed me for an hour (in Arabic) back in 2006 was beaten by Egyptian security forces while reporting in that country. But he never backed down.

  1. Bovard's praise of Al Jazeera is thoroughly justified. Al Jazeera–unlike America's bought-and-paid-for Fawning Corporate Media–believes in honest reporting.

Yes, the winds of change–possibly gale force?–are beginning in the Middle East. Let's hope the U.S.- and Israel-backed satraps get tossed out on their asses. The people of the Middle East must control their own destinies.

Hillary Clinton, that bought-and-paid-for tool of the Israel Lobby, must be soiling her pretty pink panties. . . .

Ewe, gross. Have you see her zionist butt lately?

  2. thank you Al Jazeera, you are a beacon of light in the midddle east.Keep up the good work.

  3. Thank you Al Jazeera, domestic regime media keeps us in the dark, if it wasn't for your reporting we would be indoctrinated with ruling party's Propaganda.

Not to detract from your praise for them because I agree with it, but being more forthright against oppression than the US government or even our sycophantic, government stenographer mainstream "news" media isn't at all difficult.

  5. Suddenly after over 30 years the Corporate Media discoverd that Mubarak and his regime are dictatorial, oppressive , corrupt ,and have imprisoned, tortured and eleminate so many people.

  6. And all you Ameroconned taxpayers, don't forget that your bastard government has stolen tens of billions of dollars over the years to prop up this jackbooted, bastard, thug tyrant!

  7. I feel bad for the Egyptian people.

What has Amerika done for them? It's more like, what has Amerika done to them?

Given tens of billions of dollars to their corrupt, torturing, murdering dictator and made fun of them with pop trash like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVrNV_5LhNE

All I can say is that the Egyptians are overthrowing a dictator. I doubt most Amerikans would have the balls to "walk like an Egyptian."

  8. Yeah, just for fun I turned on Fox News for first time in last five days and there was just commercial break.
So I asked myself how long will it takes before they start "discussing" Israel stance on this.
Commercials ended and there it was, correspondent in Jerusalem showing map of poor tiny Israel surrounded by green big hostile countries and two white countries (Jordan and Egypt). And then Egypt turned to green with comment how it's gonna be hard on Israel…
Then they changed topic to "debating" how Obama is pussy, because he imitates Reagan who had philisophical ideas behind him but Obama doesn't…

  9. Send.., email this to all of your senators you know of..:

For democracy to function democracy needs to empower democracy.., the principals in democracy prohibits empowering dictatorial, tyrants and or apartheid regimes..; therefore,

"As an American citizen, I am deeply ashamed of my government's lukewarm response to the protests in Egypt. President Obama and Vice-President Biden have an opportunity to influence the outcome in favor of a more democratic Egypt. Thus far, they have squandered that chance. I urge all my fellow Americans to contact their senators, representatives, and the White House. It is time to call on Washington to stop supporting tyrants and dictators. It is time for out vaunted American gospel of democracy to be more than empty words and hollow gestures. It is time for a free world, and a Free Egypt!"

  10. Thank you Al Jazeers, You have shownthe USA networks of onesided reports of the situation in the Middle East. You are a beacon of light and sunshine in your part of the world.

  11. Competitors, Thrills, Victory You may discover it all in the adrenaline-pumping sport of racing. Should you crave competitors, racing is an endlessly fascinating sport that delivers a lifetime of challenges and presents sufficient variety to be accessible to anybody with a necessity for speed.
