Egypt: No Government? No Problem!

Via Al Jazeera: The Egyptian army is coalescing around Cairo’s NDP headquarters, as well as the adjoining Museum of Antiquities: with the former practically razed to the ground, a burning shell, the latter is apparently now being threatened. It’s interesting to note that there was a complete lack of fire trucks for many hours around the Museum. Did the regime let the fire in the surrounding area burn on purpose — in order to depict the protesters as destroyers?

The Emir of Kuwait has announced that the government is giving every citizen the equivalent of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars and free distribution of food staples. How’s that for buying off trouble?

As the tumultuous events of “Freedom Friday” draw to a close, it looks like Egyptians will wake up on Saturday to a country with no government. And  the world is a better place.

The Speaker of the Egyptian “parliament” is slated to make an announcement. We’ll keep you posted.

  1. Intersting thing ,it reminds us of the time when a certain super power invaded a very small country on pure lies and allowed the national Museum of that country to be ransaked and looted without any protesction however the oil minstery was heavly gurded by the invading forces!Mubarak has learned well from his masters.

  2. I implore anyone in Egypt who can read this to not harm the Museum of Antiquities- that's your history, the history of the world, at your fingertips and the loss of those irreplaceable artifacts would be a shame to humanity the world over. Burn the government offices, burn the stores or whatever- all of those can be replaced. But the Museum artifacts cannot be replaced- once they are destroyed they are gone forever. Insha'Allah the Egyptian people will realize this and act accordingly.

  3. send or email this to all senators you know of..

For democracy to function democracy needs to empower democracy.., the principals in democracy prohibits empowering dictatorial, tyrants and or apartheid regimes..; therefore,

"As an American citizen, I am deeply ashamed of my government's lukewarm response to the protests in Egypt. President Obama and Vice-President Biden have an opportunity to influence the outcome in favor of a more democratic Egypt. Thus far, they have squandered that chance. I urge all my fellow Americans to contact their senators, representatives, and the White House. It is time to call on Washington to stop supporting tyrants and dictators. It is time for out vaunted American gospel of democracy to be more than empty words and hollow gestures. It is time for a free world, and a Free Egypt!"

  4. you're very aware of the conditions that mentioning these issues…it is happening the same as recent movements in other countries.

  5. The world over is a movement by the people and for the people.., a free societies, free people, free all political prisoners, no to police states and no more to tyrants, dictatorial or apartheid regimes. That goes for US and EU.
