‘Propaganda’ on Syrian Chemical Weapons
Charles Glass on Democracy Now talks about the Syrian conflict, the Islamist opposition, and Western threats about the Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons. Of the latter, he says, “It sounds to me pretty much like the propaganda that was used prior to the invasion of Iraq, where the chemical weapons were held up as an excuse to bring about Western intervention, ultimately, when it wasn’t true.”
After all of the bluster last week from the Obama administration on Syrian chemical weapons, Leon Panetta on Tuesday said the threat is now subsiding and there are no new indications “of any aggressive steps to move forward in that way.”
Seems like a curiously rapid change of tune to me.

Some guesses: It was crap to begin with and they foresaw having to justify it eventually. Or, regardless, it didn't seem to be playing as well as they liked (it even evoked Iraq), so they'd rather something else cued what they're looking to do. Or possibly the video ostensibly of 'rebels' gassing rabbits and threatening Alawites (sp?) trumped them; real or not, best to ease gas out of the public mind now that it can be associated with their proteges. Or a more reasonable faction won this round…and the guy who headed CIA during the dronings of good Samaritans is the face that lot is stuck with announcing a 'change'… Or maybe the other superpowers were effective this time…

The US keeps using the same game-plays – so predictable.

It would be great for once 'national security requirements' could be lowered enough to provide actual evidence for the claims made, all oo often, by people who are speaking "anonymously". It surely wouldn't bother Assad to know that US satellites are watching his every move.
And no cartoons please.

I’m not trying to change the subject, just lookin for a little bit of insight because we are looking to move to another city and are in search of an honest moving outfit. We were curious about using this organization, Movers4Less 1992 N Main St Walnut Creek, CA 94596 – 925-309-6130. Is there some sort of movers scam or review resource available for verifying them?

There really needs to be a reliable, consistent counter-news source who has the confidence and trust of US victim nations to get the straight scoop from their point of view.

most important job is taking your call when you get drunk in Riyadh. You don't get a great job at an influence mill with that on your résumé. You do if Ambassador to Saudi Arabia means what doing the "important work" needed under current policies.
