Reminder: Petition to Pardon Snowden

Jason Ditz, June 19, 2013

Just a reminder for those who haven’t done so already, the White House petition calling on President Obama to preemptively pardon leaker Edward Snowden is still a little short of its goal. There’s plenty of time left and no reason we shouldn’t be able to get another 14,000 signatures in fairly short order.

The petition would oblige President Obama to comment on the Snowden situation directly, and would hopefully embarrass him into not simply shrugging the issue off, as he has done so far. Though the Justice Department hasn’t officially decided to charge Snowden with anything yet, all the information from administration insiders suggest this is inevitable. Lets make it clear to the president that we oppose this process, and don’t want to punish people for simply telling the American public the truth.

  1. Obama wouldn't have the guts to do it.

  2. I've been watching the numbers, i suspect they're gaming it.

  3. As have I. I have been watching since the second day in and at that point it looked like we would reach the required number within a week. Not soon after the rate of increase dropped off like a rock. I'm not suggesting that it is IMPOSSIBLE that all those who are paying attention and support Snowden signed the petition as quick as they could and then there was mostly no one left who was even aware, but I will say that the DRASTIC change in rate of increase would suggest what mewmew is saying. They are rigging it so they don't have to comment on it. People are very polarized on this issue and making a comment on it either way could be VERY damaging.

  4. Well, only 1,158 more to go folks!

  5. He is a hero & should not be punished. He told the truth about what our government was doing. They (government) should be put on trial!!

War criminal and general piece of shlt Obama's get out will be the following, at the Shitehouse's "Terms of Participation" page:

"To avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition."

The creation of the United States of America has turned out to be the worst man-made catastrophe ever inflicted on human-kind; and, for that matter, most of the rest of animal-kind.

Those at Echelon, and similar fascists reading this E-Mail and 'signature', are referred to the profanity used by the sadly seemingly immortal lying manipulative War-Criminal, Mass-Murderer and Traitor Dick Cheney to some Democratic Party non-entity (as pretty much all the Democrats are).
