  1. Putin looks like the adult, Obama looks like the child. Remember Obama's juvenile remark about Putin looking like a child slouching in the backseat of a classroom?

  2. This is unbelievable. It's like a satirical television farce. Pat Buchanan defends Putin. As said, Putin looks like the adult, Obama looks like the child.

  3. Greta was doing her best to parrot the FOX neocon line. Pat totally destroyed her argument. Neither Obama's left-wing interventionists nor those neocons (both D & R) have a logical argument. Putin is the adult in a room full of children. If Obama goes ahead and bombs despite all world and national opposition, he will be responsible for starting a chain of events that might lead to WW3.

  4. Putin was never head of the KGB. The KGB ceased to exist in the early 1990s and its functions were broken into several new agencies one of which was the domestic agency the FSB – equivalent to the FBI. Putin headed that agency in the late 1990s prior to becoming president. The foreign intelligence service comparable to the CIA is called the SVR.

  5. KGB guys were always the Soviet Union's realists. They were paid to be that. They had to be canaries in the mine for external threats and social trends undermining the gerontocratic commie elite. And so the spooks were qualified to grab the levers and steer a new track when the old system imploded in 1989.

Pat B has been a lone voice of historical knowledge, constitutionalism and realistic appraisal of the USA's economic ability to 'project power' in the new Far East-leaning world. He has gone back to the poisoned wells of Globocop interventionism: Wilson, Lincoln, TR and FDR were all imperialists pretending to be liberators of foreigners. Buchanan is a Founders man.

No wonder he appreciates Putin's smart moves. Maybe Pat sees a parallel between the near-bankrupt USSR of the late 1980s, bogged down in Afghanistan and with a population totally disillusioned by its rulers, and another ailing superpower today. Maybe Vlad sees it too!

  6. So the next time Human Rights Watch comes out with a report that’s critical of Israel for its treatment of the Palestinians, I’ll assume that you’re going to be saying the same thing, correct; that you think that the report is credible, it’s based on eyewitness accounts?
