Posted December 26, 2001 Now You See It, Now You Don't [Regarding Justin Raimondo's column of December 22, "Now You See It, Now You Don't":] The reports were pulled not because of self-censorship but by the network's belated recognition that it had been taken by a story that contained inaccuries, innuendo, and completely unsupported claims. The reports made for exciting reading, particularly if you like fiction. Eric Garris replies: If what you say is true, they have an obligation to their viewers to give such explanation. Otherwise, there is no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Freedom Fighter With moist eyes, I read the article [of December 21,] "Against Another War in Iraq," by Dr. Ron Paul, Representative from Texas. In a sea of insanity, here is a sane voice screaming at those in power. It touched me, because these were the voices that led me to love America. I pray to God that the remaining voices like his left in your country will have the courage to speak. Israeli Spy Connection I have to congratulate Mr. Raimondo on his articles continuing to probe the Israeli spy connection. Bizarrely, no one else in the media is picking up on the Fox News revelations. I wonder why that is? Another reason to thank heavens for Antiwar.com. Common Knowledge [Regarding Justin Raimondo's column of December 21, "The Secret War":] Just for your information, it is common knowledge that the Mossad did send people to the USA to warn the USA and provide whatever info they had regarding impending terrorist attacks on America prior to 9/11. Why you do not research that and correct your somewhat misleading conspiracy theories, is a question that has [to make] one wonder what you're really trying to accomplish and what you represent. One would wonder what the 100,000 Americans who are mourning loved ones would think of you. They may think you're another apologist for the terrorists and Islamic murderers and fanatics. Maybe you would learn more about what it's really like, if you moved away from the liberties and convenience you enjoy in the USA, to an Arab country for a few years and then a few in Israel. Israelis Detained [Regarding Justin Raimondo's column of December 21, "The Secret War":] I accepted his suggestion to go to Google and typed in "Iraelis detained." And it resulted in repeated stories about the five Israeli shmucks working for a moving company on expired visas. They were expelled from the USA about a month ago and they are as far from spying as Justin Raimondo is from the truth. Another reference to "Israeli art students" is even more puzzling. The students looked like "Middle Easterners" and had false passports and visas. Israeli spies, like their Russian, French, British, German etc. colleagues spying on America, are coming to the USA officially, with good passports and visas. ...About one million Arabs are Israeli citizens. They also are called "Israelis." I would like to hear from Carl Cameron of Fox how many of 60 out of the initially detained 140 Israelis are actually Jews and how many Arabs. 21:] The Israelis should be reminded that they are occupying Palestinian land. UN resolutions 242 and 338 demands the full withdrawal to pre 1967 borders. The illegal Israeli settlements must be vacated and the right of return to the Palestinians must be honored. The Palestinians conceded 72% of Palestine to Israel and agreed to live in peace in the remaining 28% (West Bank and east Jerusalem), yet Israel continues it's brutal occupation and agreeing to nothing less than total domination of the Palestinian people. Peace can only be achieved if the full rights of the Palestinian people are restored in accordance to the UN resolutions and International law. Now More Than Ever Now, more than ever sites like Antiwar.com are needed to counterbalance media types who are simply mouthpieces for the warfare state. Thanks for being unorthodox, irreverent and, most of all, unafraid. ~ Barbara Hoffman, New York, NY |
