Posted November 30, 2002 The Real Scoundrels Regarding "War Party Dumps Bush?" by Justin Raimondo: Oh my God! It makes perfect sense, why didn't I think of it? Thanks for opening my eyes and boosting my understanding of the cr*p behind the scenes. Thank you for confirming my suspicion that the Dems aren't that much different from the Reps, and that it is the War Party manipulated by Israel that are the real evil scoundrels. Brilliant Diversion Regarding "War Party Dumps Bush?" by Justin Raimondo: Love your columns, love Antiwar.com. But all this flap about Iraq was designed to do one thing: to divert the American people's attention away from what could and should have been the issues in the mid-term elections: the economy, corporate crime, the failed so-called War Against so-called Terrorism, and the 9/11 cover-up. It succeeded brilliantly. The election was about Incumbency, and The Regime was maintained intact: we now have a "Government of National Unity." The reason the war hasn't happened yet, is because we are not ready for military action yet. It takes time to get all the people, equipment, supplies, weapons, weapons systems, ammunition, support requirements, etc. in place. For Gulf War I, it took almost 6 months. ... Saddam will do something predictably stupid to interfere with the inspection process, and the UN-sanctioned trigger will go off. Once again he will prove his utility as the most important agent for the advancement of US interests in the region. The Invasion of Iraq, and seizure of Iraqi oil assets and resources, will happen when whoever it is that the Cheney Whitehouse is working for deems that the time is right. Once in Iraq, the stage will be set for a similar seizure of Saudi Arabia when the King dies, and succession devolves into chaos. And then, Iran will be easy. A united Arab world against the Persians. What could be easier? And total US control from the Arabian Peninsula across all the way to Afghanistan, and the pipelines to be built into the Caspian Sea. ... ~ Jeff Moebus, New Orleans, Louisiana McCain's Father Regarding "War Party Dumps Bush?" by Justin Raimondo: This
might be a good time, what with the Lieberman-McCain chimera barring its
fangs, sharpening its claws and literally drooling over its intended prey,
the Saudis (and any other swarthy non-Israeli nation), to remember one
thing. John McCain's father brought us the "truth" in the USS
Liberty incident. Forward Columns Regarding "War Party Dumps Bush?" by Justin Raimondo: In this high-tech age, it is unfortunate that Justin Raimondo's columns, especially this one, cannot be forwarded to other people to read. Webmaster Eric Garris replies: You can forward the column. On the right hand side of the page is a button that says "Email this." Just click on it and you can send it to as many people as you like. War Party's Folly Regarding "War Party Dumps Bush?" by Justin Raimondo: Thank you, Mr. Raimondo, for another penetrating look at US foreign policy. Does anyone really think that the US could actually "take" all of the Middle East in a war of conquest? The only possible way it could be a successful venture is if you took every single Muslim or Arab person on Earth and killed them. They may also have to round up every Quran on Earth and burn them.... Look at Palestine and you will see that Muslims are a people who will never give in. So, from my point of view, this is the war party's folly. If they want to start a war against the Muslims, bring it on! I would love to see a true Islamic state born out of the resulting chaos. I know Islam would survive the second crusades, but I'm wondering if the US would. ... If this war (From Syria to Egypt) catapaults into reality, I know where I'll be and it won't be sitting behind a white-picket fence waiting for the cookie-kingdom to crumble. But I wonder where you'll be, Mr. Raimondo, and where your readers will be. These techno wars are a veil over the reality. I hope you can reign in your government before this reality comes crashing down on all of us. Personal Dictatorship Department Regarding "Deck Chairs on the Ship of State" by Alan Bock: I agree with you that the new Homeland Security Department is both unlikely to be very effective in the fight against terrorism, and a long-term threat to American civil liberties. But I think you are very wrong when you say that the Democratic objections to removing the rights of the new Department's employees were trivial or unimportant. Bush's restoration of Andrew Jackson's "spoils system" means that the employees of the HSD can be hired, promoted, demoted or fired entirely at the will of the President. The President can use this power to reward those employees who are personally loyal to him and his party, while weeding out anyone who is not prepared, for whatever reason, to blindly follow his commands to the letter. Surely you can see that this sort of Presidential power makes the HSD even more dangerous to American liberty than it would otherwise be? If Bush or some future President wished to use the HSD as a tool to establish a personal dictatorship, he has the power to staff the HSD with people who are willing to follow where he leads. Ran's Reply I'm still ... trying to figure out Ran's reply to a letter in the [November 25] Backtalk forum from Jen Wilson. Perhaps Jen was a little overzealous in her condemnation of those criminals from the Muslim faith, but to call her a "Nazi" and "a dirty racist"! ... No wonder we're losing. Ran HaCohen replies: Jen Wilson did not "condemn criminals from the Muslim faith", but said that "the followers of Muhammed were not human beings". Your rewording is manipulative and biased. Would you also excuse a claim that "the Jews are not human beings" as "perhaps[!] a little[!] overzealous[!]", or would you apply a different standard here? |
