Posted December 18, 2002 Our Gucci Cowboy Regarding "On the Downlow" by Justin Raimondo: A very good and, unfortunately, accurate article. This isn't the same country I was born into seventy-one years ago. It isn't even the same country children born three years ago enjoyed! Sharon must have something really heavy to hold over the head of our "Gucci Cowboy" to make him go down the dead end path we are heading. Thank you very much for your articles, I think you are the only one telling it as it is! ~ Ken Link, Wolf Point, Montana Why Gore Doesn't Want The Job This weekend Al Gore stated that he will not run again for President. Can't say I blame him. The war mongers in Washington are going to loose the dogs of war while the economy goes down the crapper. And believe me you don't have to be a genius to know there is something seriously wrong. Now we are only one week away from Christmas and things are not right. Our printer broke so my wife and I hit the highway stores and malls to look for a replacement. We couldn't believe how few shoppers were in the stores, and this was a Sunday afternoon! And traffic for this time of the year moving along smoothly when it should have been almost gridlock. America is beginning to fall apart and nothing is being done to keep it together. Nero fiddles while Rome burns. Saddam this, and Saddam that, Osama this and Osama that. Listening to this endless rubbish is no substitute for a secure job paying a decent living wage. Why do we have to hear about CEOs awarding themselves hundreds of millions of dollars, while hundreds of thousands of Americans are losing their jobs? Why do we have to hear about our fellow Americans being denied unemployment payment extensions, while the political bureaucracy expands and those corporations who supply the war machine are given multi-billion dollar contracts? Why are our elected representatives voting away our rights and our privacy while voting themselves hefty cost of living raises? And why do we have to hear about our government selling billions of dollars worth of deadly weapons to foreign countries with which to murder the innocent? Yeah, I think all this is beginning to show here in the streets of America. People know things are not good and are not going to get any better soon. If I was Al Gore I wouldn't want the job either. ~ Leon Fisher, New Jersey Pathetic Bluff Having read Paul Robinson's article in the Spectator ("A War for Fools and Cowards"), I start to believe that the Americans won't attack Iraq after all. America will attack only if they are convinced that Saddam Hussein is unable to defend himself with biological/chemical weapons, in other words, the complete opposite of the bellicose rhetoric emerging from Washington. Bush's threat of nuclear retaliation is merely a pathetic bluff; it would be suicide in terms of America's international relations. Which means, of course, that interviewing Iraqi scientists solves nothing. I am sure that America's delicate response to North Korea's nuclear revival has not escaped SH's attention. Whether or not Iraqi has WMD, SH must realise that his only hope for survival to allow the Americans to think that he possibly does. This is why the Americans will get nothing of any value from the scientists; how will they spot SH's disinformation? I always thought that SH was far more intelligent than the gang that occupies the White House. Living in the USA Regarding "Democratic Destruction" by Nebojsa Malic: Perhaps you should return to your beloved Balkans and participate in the struggle. It appears as though you are quite comfortable living in the United States and enjoying the benefits of the "Imperialists." Furthermore, your absence has dulled your perspective and I find your rhetoric to be a bit redundant. Enjoy your stay! On the Other Hand Regarding "Democratic Destruction" by Nebojsa Malic: Great article, excellent analysis of what is actually being done to the unfortunate subjects of the the Empire in the Balkans. Peace Keepers Battle Station Regarding
"J.C. Penney Catalog:
Toy Soldier Commandeers In regard to the Forward Command Post advertised by J.C. Penney's, there is a, to me, even more disturbing ad on the same page of their on-line catalog. This horror is less expensive (at about $25), marketed to the same age group, and is a machine-gun nest with a soldier figure, listed as get this "World Peace Keepers Battle Station." The name of the item alone is appalling to those of us who are personally committed to the cause of world peace, as I have been for nearly 50 years. The marketing of such an item, especially under such a title, horrifies me beyond expression, especially coming from a firm I had respected for years as a responsible business whose products one could trust. I hope you will pass this along with the Forward Command Post data. ~ Morgiana P. Halley, Ph.D., Maritime Ethnographer and Folklorist The CFR Regarding "By Way of Deception" by Justin Raimondo: I just read your piece, which does have important implications. I would like to amplify briefly on your reference to Rachel Bronson and the CFR. Now there is something super important, going all the way back to 1921 when it started, until today, when the likes of Henry Kissinger, Dick Cheney, and Colin Powell are in the saddle and hell-bent for the New World Order, as was Pappy Bush and Jr. Bush, (not yet CFR). I am an old geezer, old enough to been born just two years after the CFR started. Their goal has always been to bring about a Socialist World Government, run by the Rockefeller type elitists. And they are very close to attaining their Satanic goal. Basically, I am suggesting that this outfit, with 4075 handpicked elitists, representing the top leadership in every phase of American life, under its President, Leslie H. Gelb is pulling the strings for their "War on Terrorism", and all that goes with it. In their 2002 Annual Report, on page 23, they give their new web site as terrorismanswers.com! It also suggests the need for US Troops to take on a new role, namely, "to combat terrorism in America". May I suggest that you obtain a copy of this report by calling 212-434-9400 in New York City. The fact that the Bushies first picked Kissinger to head the 9/11 Commission, shows the complete lack of integrity there. And if there, where does it stop? I heard that another CFR guy, Warren Rudman, may be the next pick. Lets see how many of the rest of them are in the same club. ... A Disgrace I do not agree with the way Saddam Hussein rules/leads his country but I don't understand why Mr. George Bush thinks that he can decide for the Iraqi people and the Iraqi land what kind of regime is better for them. In my personal opinion, if the Iraqi people wanted to change the system and the leadership they would do it, they would rise against him. The fact that Mr. Bush is using this as a reason for his personal vengeance war in the name of his father is a disgrace to the whole (corrupt as it is) western world. If this war does happen it will be a very sad chapter in the history of the human race; for one, its reason (there is no reason actually except personal vengeance) and two, the outcome, aftermath and consequences. Psychological Principle A lot has been written about the rise of this incredible administration and its complete disregard of the very premises that made the U.S. system of governance workable, fair and balanced. It is now clear to most that these principles are now completely at the whim of an arbitrary Presidency. How does such a thing come about and so quickly? How can reason, sticking to principles of logic be so easily swept aside? For example, how can the burden of proof be placed upon the accused? How can one prove one does not have something? Try proving that you don't have gun. This is a fundamental law in logic you cannot prove a negative proposition. ... The nature of the attack is similar to what the poor Germans had to put up with in the 1930s and is based upon a psychological principle: put someone under enough pressure and they will abandon the very things that they wholeheartedly believe in. All you've got to do is make them believe that their very way of life is under attack and that the enemy is everywhere. Automatic Weapons I would like to start a discussion about the fact that Iraq has issued millions of automatic weapons to the Iraqi people. What affect would this have on the coming attack on and occupation of Iraq? (They will probably call it "peacekeeping.") It is my considered opinion the US has been planning this take over of the Middle East for at least 5 years. "Weapons of Mass Destruction" is a buzzword for the common people. "Inspections" for mapping out targets. ~ Jim V. |
