40 Killed, 47 Wounded in Ongoing Iraq Violence

In Anbar:

Shelling killed seven civilians and wounded nine more in Falluja.

A suicide bomber in Hit killed one policeman and wounded four more.

In Abu Ghraib, police found a dumped body. A roadside bomb wounded four people.

Seven militants were killed during a clash in Saqlawiya.

Elsewhere:

Gunmen killed eight police commandos at a checkpoint in Adhaim.

In Tikrit, a bomb killed two policemen, while a separate bomb wounded two more. Gunmen killed three policemen, including a captain.

In Mosul, a bomb wounded two civilians. Another bomb wounded four people, including two civilians. A roadside bomb killed two soldiers. A bomb killed a policeman and wounded three civilians.

A roadside bomb in Jurf al-Sakhar killed two policemen. Another bomb wounded four soldiers. One soldier was killed and two more were wounded in another blast.

In Yathrib, two policemen were killed and three more were wounded in a small arms attack.

Two civilians were killed in Baghdad.

Gunmen killed an intelligence officer in Balad.

A mosque guard was gunned down in Basra.

Gunmen killed a policeman in Shirqat.

A bomb in Badush wounded three people including two civilians.

A kidnapped girl was rescued in Iskandariya.

Four militants were killed during a security operation in Hamrin.
