I don't really have a problem with Buchanan. He's intelligent, knows his history, and his recent views are in step with much of what he's been saying for 30 years. However, he does have the propensity to scale back or readjust his rhetoric depending on the audience. He's not perfect, not many men or women have ever displayed the consistency that Dr. Paul has. Which leads me to my point, it's a shame that in order to protect his career and credibility that he didn't sound the Ron Paul horn from the roof tops. He's had the pulpit on MSNBC, CNN, etc....he had a lot of people's ears during the run-up to the primaries and he chose career preservation above all else. If he is true to what he says, then Ron Paul would have represented the candidate of a lifetime in his eyes, so where was his unmitigated support? It's a bit of a shame, such an opportunity.

Pat Buchanan is faking any real anti-war sentiment because he is in this for the money, period. It boggles the mind how easy it is to fool so many people these days. Pat Buchanan of Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon fame? This Pat Buchanan you people seriously think is anti-war? Get real and get serious. Anyone (Buchanan) who supports Bush/Cheney is about as anti-war as Sylvester the Cat is Anti-Tweety Bird eating.................

Rodrigo,

Don't be taken in by the Clown Prince of Con-men. Pat Buchanan will not oppose John McCain but instead actively support him because McCain now believes in Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest of the wealthy. It does not matter of John Insane McCain's foreign policy puts us on the path to war against Russia, Pat Buchanan will support and vote for him anyway.

And that weasel Scott Horton will continue to allow Buchanan to get away with this easy to see through charade......................

Very good analysis, Pat. But I hope that you will forthrightly oppose McCain as we approach November. No more double-mindedness.

Oscar,

Wrong again. You have been reading too many Democratic talking points. Ending this war simply means not allowing a funding bill to come to the floor of either the House or the Senate. You can't filibuster what does not come up for a vote. All the Democrats have to do is not allow a war funding bill in either house come to the floor and the President will BE FORCED TO WITHDRAW TROOPS FROM IRAQ, PERIOD. If you knew anything about how the House and Senate worked you would know that.

Don't be fooled so easily. Believing in the Democrats is tantamount to running to the nearest cliff and jumping off, simply because eventually they, like the GOP will lead you there..............

I guess you "brainiacs" here really "know" how the Senate works. You morons in here cannot be serious saying that the Democrats "control the U.S. Senate." You need 60 Votes in the Senate to do anything. The Republicans have been filibustering like mad in the U.S. Senate not to mention that Joe Lieberman is sucking GOP ass there. DSo, don't tell me or lie to yourselves that the Democats have an "actual majority."

As far as the House pf Representatives goes, Nancy Pelosi has to deal with those Blue Dog Democrats from the South who are nothing but DINOs and in reality really Republicans. The country has moved to far to the right that most of the Democrats are conservatives now. The GOP is so extreme that the Democrats who win now just reject the John Hagee and neocon crowd of the GOP like former Republican James Webb of Virginia. Newt Gingrich actally likes the conservatism of the Blue Dog Democrats like Heath Shuler.

So, if you idiots and idiots you are actually think the Democrats have an "actual majority" then you are wrong. The only reason Democrats won in those GOP districts was that they were speaking the same line on supporting Bush's war.

True liberals do not support the war in Iraq or the police state in the United States like you Republicans do. You Libertarians support McCain, and thus in doing so, Joe Lieberman.

Joe Lieberman would not have beaten Lowell Weicker in the first place without the help of the late William F. Buckley and BUckpac. Lieberman won the general election because you filthy Repukes supported and voted him into office in Connecticut.

You Republicans are the War Party. Face facts---its you right wing conservative nationalists who support war and who have pushed the country so far to the right that the only way Dems can win in the south is by speaking the language of war like you right wing Repukes and Pat Buchanan.

As for my multiple posts----I something is wrong with the submit comment button. I never intended to double-post anything.

Scott Horton,

No, Oscar is not joking, but you might as well be. Put the screws to Buchanan and get the truth out of him about supporting Bush/Cheney in 2004.
