I read Clemon's TWN regularly and have noticed over the last 6 months or so that he stays away from Isr-Pal or when he does write about it he maintains a sort of neither here nor there attitude..whereas in the past he has been critical of Isr and congress in the Isr-Pal deal.
I did note about that time that the owner of Google had become the new Director of The New America Foundation...this make have something to do with the change at TWN in covering Isr-Pal. Or maybe not...but I do know Google does some censoring of overly critical coverage on Israel.
But Clemons has done a definite pullback on speaking on the Israeli issue and avoids criticism of Isr in the conflict. .... something he didn't do before.

Heh. I thought that just went without saying. Does not everyone on earth know that Israel has nukes? Do you think we were both trying to obscure that fact or something?

And not a word from either Horton or Clemons about Israel's stockpile, to put it mildly, of nuclear weapons, much against international law, and much the reason for the destabilization of the Middle East. What chutzpah! Very disappointing interview.

In this interview near the ending where Scott is talking about United States foreign policy doing exactly what the terrorists want and goes on to suggest that perhaps we don't want to capture Osama bin Laden because we would have no more bogeyman. And in order to start wars in other areas you need to have a bogeyman. Steve does not have much to say about that... I thought that was interesting. Steve almost didn't know what to say and seemed to change the subject or introduce more complexity into the discussion as a way to lead listeners away from thinking more about what Scott said.

Because if what Scott is suggesting is true you are essentially saying that the political elite support terrorism because their existence supports the political elite and their minions.

One hand washing the other.

==================== suggestion ====================

Scott, sometimes I enjoy commenting however I don't enjoy checking back on pages to see if anyone has replied to my comments... there is a WordPress plug-in that allows you to subscribe to comments. When an additional comment is made to a page that you have commented on you will receive an e-mail notifying you.

I know there are other ways to subscribe to pages with RSS feed programs... however that solution is not as elegant as the comment notification.

Keep up the good work.

Steve Clemons is very naive to be impressed by Biden. To claim that somehow Joe Biden is a peace-maker hero of Washington is really a joke.

Obama said that Iran should be barred from importing gasoline. That´s a Declaration of War, the same as HR 362 and SR 580 which were shelved for now.
Obama said that he wouldn´t allow the UN to Veto an American attack on Iran.
What´s the matter with him ? Does he think United Bluff owns the planet because of bigger guns ???

I am listening to this and I have to say I am completely underwhelmed by it. Because Steve Clemens has such a cool approach to moderating comments on 'the Washington Note' blog, the erroneous idea has grown that he has secret radical sympathies, but all it is is coolness.
