Sir, Why you forgot to stop or voice for GENOCIDE in Sri Lanka. Even the Times reported, the internal war in Sri Lanka is more severe than war in Afghanistan. A hawai like country with intensity more than Afghanistan, you can imagine. It is a 50 years of ethnic conflict and just during Bush Administration, it was painted as "war on terror". As you may well know Genocide Prevention Project report highlighted "GENOCIDE RED ALERT" for 8 countries including Sudan and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was ranked as "FAILED STATE" for their worst attrocities against their minority Tamils for consecutive years. It is also the worst state for Journalists and NGOs.
NO JOURNALIST ALLOWED, NO NGOs, NO UN BY MILITARY. MILITARY IS CONSISTS OF 100% SINHALA MAJORITY WHO HAS KILLED 80, 000 TAMIL MINORITY.
I kindly request you to bring this genocide to light and public domain. ONLY THAT CAN SAVE A RACE BEING WIPED OUT. IMAGE, GAZA bombing was 22 days. IN SRI LANKA THE SAME INTENSITY WAR HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS.

Thank you

Chomsky recently came out with his analysis of the Israeli war on Gaza. I didn't see it posted up on Antiwar.com so I'll post it below. I think that you would appreciate it Scott. Porter and Chomsky reach similar conclusions, although Chomsky brings much more historical context to bear in his argument.

BTW, I love the show and am happy to see that you're back in business.

I agree with Claus-Erik Hamle -- Iran needs nuclear power plants exactly the same as any other country -- because oil is fungible. Its value in Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. is exactly the same as in Germany or UK or Japan or the U.S. Isn't that the fundamental premise of capitalism? Of market economics?

I oppose nuclear power, as well as nuclear weapons. But the war people, intent on war with Iran, defy the laws of economics when they say Iran does not need nuke plants. Clearly- they just want war, killing, and cataclysm. That is their real goal. They're living in some kind of sociopathic condition, beyond reason.

They're already planning their next attack...Lebanon? Iran? Anyone who contradicts their terror and land-rape ( as official state policy since 1948 ) is ripe for attack..They're already planning their pretext, their excuse..Never before in history has such a shitty little country caused so much suffering..

Thanks very much, to you and Mr. Porter.

For those interested, Noam Chomsky has come out with an excellent article, which is very long and comprehensive, covering the recent Gaza Op and the entire sordid history of the conflict:

Regarding Olmert's boast about ordering Bush to make Rice back off supporting her own UN resolution:

Scott, you were wondering whether this might have an effect on US public opinion. But really, was it very widely reported on TV news? 90% of Americans get 90% of their news from the big TV networks. I haven't noticed that these media gatekeepers are talking about this at all. Am I wrong? I must admit, Idon't keep up that well with the "mainstream media" these days. My stomach can't take it. So maybe I missed their coverage of Olmert's bragging.
