Scott Horton Interviews Rep. Ron Paul
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) discusses the lack of change in Afghanistan and Iraq policy despite the Obama administration’s rhetoric, how a single high U.S.-casualty incident abroad could garner the support of Americans for more military intervention, the unwillingness of Democrats or Republicans to cut the Pentagon’s budget, the expansive new powers over the economy being exercised by the government and why he favors the prosecution of the previous administration for war crimes.

According to former Trident missile engineer Bob Aldridge-www.plrc.org-the Pentagon aims to achieve a disarming and unanswerable first-strike capability. According to Bob Aldridge the US Navy can track and destroy all enemy submarines. Please see the article by Keir Lieber and Daryl Press, “The Rise of US Nuclear Primacy”, in the 2006 March/April issue of Foreign Affairs. Minuteman-3s and Trident-2 D5s linked to NAVSTAR obtain a CEP of 30-40 metres, enough to destroy any hard target. A First-Strike Capability won´t be complete without the missiles in Poland to shoot down any surviving Russian missiles. Even if it´s only for blackmail, the Russians may have no choice but implementing Launch On Warning. Bob Aldridge resigned because a disarming and unanswerable first-strike capability is suicidal.

As much as I critcize Dr. Paul, deontologically, on some levels, this world would be a much better place with more like him in D.C.. That’s uncontroversial. Recent years have proven there’s nothing ‘realistic’ about Realpolitik [sic]. Great interview, Mr. Horton.
Ry:
Rep. Kucinich is historically a strong proponent of nationalizing the Fed fully under the Treasury Dept. I haven’t been following HR 1207, but have you found any reason he’s stated as to why he hasn’t co-sponsored Dr. Paul’s bill?

Great interview. Lots of questions to be asked of our “representatives” in the congress. I’m glad that one person is inside asking them. Vote more like R.P. into office!

@ Little Alex:
Can you explain how you criticize Dr. Paul “deontologically”? I am unfamiliar with the term and criticism.

I Voted for Dr. Ron Paul. When, I started researching him I was floored. That Man has had the same message for Thirty years. No flip flopping. no scandal. I will vote for him in 2012, should he run.

I am a Socialist who would rather have a guy like Paul than a neo-liberal…worst of both worlds…can someone explain to me in better detail what Bill it is you wish us to call our reps about? The co-sponsors are aupporting the missile shield in Poland?
Sorry to be dense about this…I noticed that my rep is not on the list, but, I like to contact him anyway, mostly just to get on his nerves…

@KDelphi,
HR 1207 is called the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. What it will do is have the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to give the Federal Reserve a complete and comprehensive audit and force the FED to answer questions as to deals and agreements between the FED and foreign banks and governments, and it would also show us the money; to which Banks and Wall Street firms got handouts.
Although the FED has been audited in times past, they have never had a COMPREHENSIVE, IN DEPTH audit, which is what is needed. It’s similar to you being audited by the IRS. They come in your home to give you an audit and you tell them they can look at everything except know what’s in “THAT” box. See how far you could get away with that..:-)

Count on Representative Ron Paul for sound judgment and moral clarity. (These qualities are virtually unknown in Congress.)

nobody talks about brzezinsky policies behind obama but only about the increasing bombing non sense which make sense if you realize that behind scenes there is a plan ready to eliminate china and russia friendship and supremacie
