It is unfortunate that even detractors of the Federal Reserve continue to insist that the Federal Reserve Bank is a private institution. This institution was created by The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 by the US Congress and signed by the then president Woodrow Wilson. The seven board members of The Federal Reserve are appointed by the president, obviously politicizing any decision by the chairmen. Even more importantly, Thomas DiLorenzo points out that the ultimate decision making does not actually rest with the Federal Reserve chairman but rather with the executive branch of the government. As follows:

The American experiment ended, 1913, when our congress and president gave the ability to coin and value money to the private for profit Federal Reserve which is a copy of the imperial banking system of Britain. The peoples wealth has been used to build empire while enriching an oligarchial collective thru federal debt + interest.

Yes, I am also sure the American Empire will collapse on itself just as soon as Chinese and Japanese banks cancel America’s credit card. This borrowing spree cannot and will not go on forever as AIPAC and everyone else appear to believe. I see interest rates soaring and America unable to borrow money to buy oil. Push soon turns to shove as millions of us with guns try to secure gas.

All empires eventuall fall. Our actions show that we are in the last stages of the American experiment. What comes afterwards in anyone's guess, but I wouldn't expect it to be a re-igniting of liberty and freedom.

I had a letter from Snowe and my reply posted on my website for over two years, only to take it off the front page this month with an apology when I found the specification "alien" in the Military Commissions Act which I had missed in previous readings.

Yet Hornberger says, citizens a still in that jeopardy of denial of rights under it. Is that true? Are you aware of the language limiting it to "aliens"?

I disagree emphatically with his predictions about the public consciousness. The American people are hopeless.
