Daphne Eviatar is a whose work has appeared in the New York Times, The Nation, Legal Affairs, Mother Jones, the Washington Independent and many others. She is a Senior Reporter at The American Lawyer and was an Alicia Patterson Foundation fellow in 2005 and a Pew International Journalism fellow in 2002.

    HAIL OF THE ATOMIC BOMBS

    SIR,
    Never in its long history mankind could find itself exposed to so grievous a threat as at present from the atomic devastation. This threat means not only the complete annihilation of life on earth, besides a most disgraceful end of all humanity, all civilization, but also an absolute certainty of the earth being rendered uninhabitable for millions of years to come due to the dispersal of radioactive materials throughout the world as a result of either the fission process carried on in the atomic bomb or the atomic reactors for peace. This world may any moment be subjected to a hail of atomic bombs and destroyed in a matter of days, hours, even minutes inspite of all the futile efforts on the part of mankind to put a ban on the atomic war. The course of atomic energy for peace may not prove nay the less hazardous. Rather the possibility is that in the long run the so-called atomic energy for peace may prove equally if note more destructive and more devastating than the hail of atomic bombs, inspite of all the wishful thinking on the part of these responsible for the adoption of the atomic energy today or tomorrow. The Quran fourteen centuries ago has peophecied the atomic hell and has diagnosed the moral and economic causes of its emergence in the clearest of terms.(Kindly read Surah Alhomaza-104-Quran)

    Scott, you were on fire in this interview! When are you going to get a talk show on MSNBC or CNN? That would be awesome, a straight shooting, informed, passionate and moral host that doesn’t waste his time with the bullshit Democrat/Republican blame game. One can dream!

    ATOMIC TRIDENTS

    The following epitaph could well be read with feasibility:-
    “Beneath these ruins the rotten and fossilized bones and smoldering ashes of a cancer-ridden race of human beings. Once the honorable vicegerents of God on earth, a chosen species created in Creator’s own image and capable of surpassing angels of heaven, but eventually forgetting their exalted place and the predetermined purposes of their creation on earth they engrossed themselves in the pursuit of wealth as the object of their life, and considering this world as their perpetual abode they developed an attitude of backbiting and slander with ever-increasing greed for wealth, and fell on earth other in a fit of frenzy shaking their atomic tridents and were one and all consumed. And turned this earth into universal grave”.
