Jeremy is very right there is only one party with it comes to foreign policy and I would add monetary policy to that as well.
We could solve the problems in Sudan by ending the weapons trade and giving debt relief. Sudan is China's Israel. Obama has increased the use of Mercenaries, doubled the Afghan war and has been bombing Pakistan. He hasn't changed a thing. All he did was take the worst part of Bush and amplify them.

Jeremy and Scott we need to stop trying to get of leftest media and start building our own. Well Scott and antiwar already have and I guess RebelReport is the next great site in the fight. I'll put Rebelreports up on anti-neocons for ya and send some traffic.

Birthers are a waste of time. It's pure distraction activism. It's something easy for dumbies to grasp. It's the morons who can't psychologically digest how the war is ruining the country and need something different from Bush to point to and the birth certificate thing is about the only thing they can use because when it comes to policies there aren't any differences.

And I would disagree with comparing them to 911 "truth". There are kooks for sure but that does make the whole topic silly. Those same kooks think the war in Iraq was started by the Vatican or space aliens or whatever, its retarded but it doesn't mean that there wasn't a conspiracy to pull America into war with Iraq using forged documents etc.

It's called poisoning the well. Thus the kookiest ones out there are who are going to get media attention, and those with sound words can't even buy a spot on tv.

It's not really just a private sector. It all overlaps. The secs of Navy, Airforce, Army, Policy, in the pentagon all held stocks in as well as past and future employment in the companies they allocated no-bid contracts too. It's not really a private sector its quasi government itself feeding itself using war as a medium. Some were even currently employed as "advisers" or "consultants" with the same companies they were shelling out over priced contracts to. Furthermore unlike the US military which is held to some accountability and rules, Geneva Conventions etc, the mercenary groups get to change roles whenever they want in order to avoid all the laws. About the only person at first holding them accountable or at least exposing what was going on was Jeremy starting with his book on Blackwater before many even had heard of the name. Jeremy had them pegged back when Perle was using them as a side door into Azerbaijan. And it all leads up to why we are really in Afghanistan for the BTC

Of course there may not be much left to defend on the domestic "front" by the time the Pentagon has consumed the entire budget and now that the Constitution is in shreds but inexorably the military-industrial complex seems to want to cut off the branch on which it is seated.
Such a regime with the "bomb" is scary, and they ask us to be frightened of Iran!

The only role of the private sector is and always has been to make money. Wherever and whenever. There's nothing nuanced to understand about that. But by all means give your best sales pitch justifying the ever-expanding role of private corporations in empire building. I'd like to hear it.

And according to Bob Aldridge the US Navy can track and destroy all enemy submarines simultaneously. Please see the article by Keir Lieber and Daryl Press, "The Rise of US Nuclear Primacy" in the 2006 March/April issue of Foreign Affairs. A First-Strike Capability won´t be complete without the missiles in Poland to shoot down any surviving Russian missiles. Even if it´s only for blackmail, the Russians may have no choice but implementing Launch On Warning. Minuteman-3 and Trident-2 D5 linked to NAVSTAR obtain a CEP of 30-40 metres, enough to destroy any hard target.
