Giraldi was on National Propaganda Radio, NPR, talking about the CIA torture investigation. The socialist interviewing him was a tad surprised to know that The American Conservative takes the stance that an investigation does need to happen.

I loved hearing Giraldi On National Propaganda Radio, NPR, about the CIA torture investigation. The socialist interviewing him was a little surprised to know that The American Conservative takes the stance that an investigation does need to happen.

Unfortunately, didn't hear the whole NPR interview, and do not know if Campaign for Liberty was even mentioned. Keep up the great work Mr. Giraldi!

Neither of you said "better to punish none than some" , though I'm unclear whether Philip would rather see just the CIA equivalents of Abu Grahib's Privates Buckstop, Scapegoat and Badapple doing time rather than no-one at all.

Deterancewise, it is more important to prosecute those who obey illegal orders than those who issue them. The brutal bottom line is that Cheyney (and Hitler) are only "monsters" because there are so many cowards, sadists, and fools willing and indeed eager to obey them. Hanging Cheyney and his upper minionswouldn't deter the next Cheyney (such people are ultimately insane) oir his lower helpers, but hanging those who obeyed Cheyney would make his successorr less able to command evil of the ranks..

The "guy at the end of" systematised torture is the torture victim, not the torturer, however lowly, obediemtient and memoed that torturer may be.

The notion that it us somehow "unfair" to prosecute only the turd who wields the scalpel - better to punish none than some - is "unfair"on the victim. Would the courts not drop murder charges against a hitman if the the client' connection was unprovable?

Whenever the FCM covers a story en masse or else ignores a plausible story completely, then you know that something is up. See Chomsky and Herman's Propaganda Model.
