Mark Ames

Mark Ames, regular writer for The eXiled, discusses Russia’s transition from neoliberal Yeltsin to nationalist Putin, the US “economic hit men” advisers to Yeltsin who facilitated the rise of the oligarchs, the huge decline in Russian life-expectancy rates in the 1990s, the trail of economic disasters left in Larry Summers‘ wake, how the “cakewalk” victory of Gulf War I increased American bravado and militarism, the end of US meritocracy and why a more vigorous opposition is needed to stop the War Party.

  1. Scott Russia wasn't the same method as Central America or South America, it wasn't the classical 1 generate debt for loans, 2 pay US companies and stick the government of country x with the bill. The classic economic hitman strategy wasn't what went down. The Oligarchs took power through rigged auctions, control over mass media, and banks. Basically the men running the banks who were in control of the auctions for venture capitalist to bid on companies bla bla bla just set themselves up to win by disqualifying other applicants and virtually stealing whole husk of industries for nothing. Berezovsky's mentor was more a long the lines of March Rich than Summers.

    1. >Berezovsky's mentor was more a long the lines of March Rich than Summers.

Berezovsky's mentor was Yeltsin himself, who gave Berezovsky the monopoly of all imports of alcohol. The intent of this was, of course, to feather the Yeltsin family nest.

Berezovsky is detested by Putin and lives, for the most part, in London …

    2. My question to you is "Where did the oligarchs (who were all relatively unknownà get the money to by the shares in the state enterprises?"

I figure Summers was their conduit to New York Investment Banksters who funded the take-overs, which were then repaid in the handsome profits those companies were generating (since most of their wealth was access to Russian mineral resources).

  2. This was a very good interview and I really enjoy the progressive kind of forward looking view it presented with the re-alignment and alliance between anti-imperialists and pro-peace people.

I really wanna see more of this guy on the show. Also, his vews on Iran/russia relations would be great to hear as well as what he thinks of the shanghai coorperation organization, is that the new warsaw pact?

  3. Ames is a gate keeper/censor on serious issues regarding US/western criminal policy towards Russia when I post comments on his site with full references they always get deleted like sponsorship of terrorism in Russia that the Beslan school massacre was organised in Bosnia months prior through Islamic front organisations/NGO’s VASIR/ Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation (AHF)which a Bosnia court in 2002 convicted of running Chechen terrorist training camps with a video discovered of terrorist training camp and rehearsing hostage taking in a school and with documents seized in Iraq from Islamists by US forces weeks prior of a similar plan for possible target schools in the US and as we know Abu Hafs organisation (who is conducting operations against Russia in Chechnya) is primarily responsible transferring foreign fighters to Iraq from Europe.

  4. “Cybercast News Service viewed videotape shot by Kohlmann of activity at the former Sarajevo offices of Al-Haramain. "All they did was white-out the old sign," said Kohlmann.

Cybercast News Service has also obtained a video that terrorism analysts say depicts an active jihad training camp in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a region previously described by analysts as an ideal gateway for terror missions into Europe.

The video, which is over four minutes in length, shows outdoor maneuvers, explosives training and training inside what appears to be a school gym. Exercises in hostage-taking are also shown.”

  5. And it is not just an unrelated effect of economic "shock therapy" that Russia has undergone a dramatic population decline this is an engineered policy of population control they did the same policy in Latin America and Mexico during the 80’s privatising major industry and banking sectors to international companies except in Russia’s case they are trying to change the demographic make-up of Russia with high muslim population birthrates especially in key strategic locations.

Soros/NED other NGO’s in Russia support gay rights, free abortion, drug legalisation, legal assistance for illegal aliens from Central Asia and open immigration among other things.

  6. you have no idea what is going on there if you don't know the language. do not cede control of the truth to people who don't want you to know their language.

  7. @pfff

Not a Serbia but British and what I say is absolutely true do your own research check out the 2002 Bosnia court case and the Golden Chain document.

This so called Al Qaeda terror network which is just a continuation of US policy of using Islamic fighters as a proxy for there wars. In EVERY single case western terror plots, attacks as well as Saudi and Mumbai attack are connected to the Bosnian-Chechen terror network.

What I said about Beslan is true and needs to be investigated at least.

Here is two links from ISSA you will have to use your brain cells to make the connection the rest you will have to research and find yourself.

The video I actually have which along with CNS news article has been removed from there website if you want to view it I will upload it on my YouTube channel.

There is also other things but due to comment limit I won’t be able to post here.

  8. @bob

As long as it is in English, facts are facts no matter what language it is in. I do my own research citing authoritative from is newspaper articles and intelligence defence publications the best of which is ISSA and their terrorist analysis/reports in the Balkans as well as the Hague’s own trial transcripts.

  9. This guy is not a serious analyst. He dissects the collapse of Russia under the yoke of the Oligarchs installed by Jeffrey Sachs and Larry Summers without saying the word Jew or seeing all thier Israeli passports. They all are. It could be what holds the clique together. One may differ to what degree it matters, but failing to take notice of it and address it disqualifies one from being any sort of ‘expert’. worth listening to.

  10. What about the near conclusive proof that MI6 and US organised the Beslan school massacre in Bosnia.

Same pattern in Ukraine. It just so happens all the major "Russian" organised crime figures just happen to be Jewish as well

Good article which pretty much covers the situation in regards to the Oligarchs by the former dean at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania

Also check out the links at the bottom of the page.

Of course Mark "the gatekeeper" Ames does not let you publish it on his site.

  11. I only just recently came across this, so obviously this is pretty late in coming. Nonetheless, it needs to be said for anyone else who comes across this.

Mark Ames is NOT someone who anti-war libertarians should seek to ally themselves with. For one thing, Mark Ames HATES libertarians, as anyone perusing the The Exiled Online for the past several months would know. He's persistently OBSESSED with the Koch brothers. It's getting ridiculous. He's turned into the left-wing version of Glenn Beck. ("All he's missing is Glenn Beck's blackboard," as I believe Radley Balko once wrote of him.) I think it's pretty clear that Ames hates liberatarians generally more than he hates pro-war forces. I also know for a fact that The Exiled Online alters posts on the site's comments threads that they don't like–particularly the comments of someone who identifies himself as an anti-war libertarian, such as myself.

  12. (cont'd from above)

There is also the matter of Ames' elitist, contemptuous view of Americans:

"If the left wants to understand American voters, it needs to once and for all stop sentimentalizing them as inherently decent, well-meaning people being duped by a tiny cabal of evil oligarchs—because the awful truth is that they’re mean, spiteful jerks being duped by a tiny cabal of evil oligarchs. The left’s naïve, sentimental, middle-class view of 'the people' blinds them to all of the malice and spite that is a major premise of Middle American life."

  13. Wow. Just…wow. Americans are “mean, spiteful jerks.” I suspect projection.

If Americans as a whole population are mean, spiteful and malicious, and Ames is trying to convince the Left of this so that they can win votes, what, then, is the implied strategy? I guess lies, frauds, deceits…I mean, how else are noble do-gooders supposed to convince a nation of mean, spiteful and malicious jerks to hand power over to them for the good of the country, right?

  14. Further, Ames' articles are frequently so devoid of facts, or facts cherry-picked out of context, that it's clear this is not a man that anti-war libertarians should want to work with. It's nearly impossible to take anything he writes seriously. He'd ultimately be more hindrance than help.

  15. One more thing, Mark Ames on libertarians:

"Anytime anyone says anything libertarian, spit on them. Libertarians are by definition enemies of the state: they are against promoting American citizens’ general welfare and against policies that create a perfect union. Like Communists before them, they are actively subverting the Constitution and the American Dream, and replacing it with a Kleptocratic Nightmare."

It shows just how completely ignorant Ames is, and just how much he hates and despises libertarians.

  16. These loans assist you to fetch an expense an efficient benefited cash in an inconvenience free method.
A few key murders committed by Giancana’s crew allowed the Outfit to take over the numbers business and add millions of dollars more in annual revenue.
I personally believe this is immoral behavior that only hurt the most vulnerable of American citizens and
line the pockets of the the credit card issuers.
