Rae Abileah, national organizer with CODEPINK Women for Peace and a member of Jewish Voice for Peace, discusses her participation in a nonviolent protest (YouTube video here) during Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech in New Orleans, the angry and violent response from the audience who wouldn’t tolerate Jewish voices of dissent against Israel’s policies and why young Jews are increasingly at odds with the right-wing Israeli agenda that has no interest in the traditional pursuit of social justice.

Rae Abileah is a 28-year-old Jewish-American of Israeli descent and is a national organizer with CODEPINK Women for Peace and a member of Jewish Voice for Peace. She is also involved in the Stolen Beauty boycott.

Stifling contrary opinion was a tactic of the Third Reich. Concentrations camps (entrapped people) were a tactic of the Third Reich. Ethnic purity by law was a tactic of the Third Reich. Israel should now be given the title of Fourth or Fifth Reich. Most of their policies mimic those of Hitler and his bums.

Scott,
Thanks for having Rae Abileah on but it was indeed too bad your time with her was cut so short. I have viewed the video of the well organised and planned disruption several times. It sure hit home and did what was intended. I hope antiwar.com listeners will go to the sites mentioned and continue to follow and support their cause.
Yet, where is the public dissent against U.S. policies not only in regards to Israel but in descent of our own right-wing conservative stance to the pursuit of social justice and military policies that are held as the American ideals? How great it would be to see like organizations formed – ‘American Voice for Peace’ and ‘Young Americans and Proud’ who would show up at meetings and conferences and put forth their voices of displeasure and no- not more so called grass rotes ‘T-party’ protesting.

Strange that Scott would have a representative of CODEPINK on again after getting burned by Medea Benjamin like he did.

If I had been born a Jew, I would get the hell out of it. I got out of Catholicism for the same reason.
