Ray McGovern, former senior analyst at the CIA, discusses why the corrupted Fourth Estate (traditional mainstream US media) needs to be supplanted by the Fifth Estate (WikiLeaks) to preserve our liberty; the State Department’s successful interference with Spanish and German courts seeking to indict US officials; how the general tenor of Cablegate documents suggests an empire falling apart; the oft-forgotten lesson of history that nothing good comes from an Afghanistan invasion; how a comparison of articles written (jointly and individually) by David E. Sanger and William J. Broad of the New York Times shows the former to be the warmongering hack; and George Bush’s apology to Israel and Saudi Arabia following the 2007 Iran NIE.

Ray McGovern was a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the John F. Kennedy administration to that of George H. W. Bush. His articles appear on Consortium News and Antiwar.com.

  2. America's Fawning Corporate Media, as our friend McGovern calls it, is worthless. It exists only to parrot the government and corporate line, the Establishment line. Disregard it. Seek out alternative news sources, alternative viewpoints, and learn from them.

WikiLeaks is doing an enormous service in spilling stuff the U.S. Government doesn't want spilled. "All governments lie," as I. F. Stone said, and the U.S. Government goes out of its way to prove the truth of that assertion.

  3. i find it funny that the raw story had basically the same interview 3 days later except they claimed it as a "rawstory exclusive interview"

  4. Regarding neocons, just for those who have seen the word thrown around a lot, but maybe don't have a clear idea of what it actually means :

  5. The arrest of the Wikileaks editor-in-chief is again yet another knee-jerk reaction for the US Govt having its own pants down doing the dirty work in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. If you have not yet had an opportunity to get the encrypted insurance file, I highly recommend that you do so. I think that the contents of the insurance file is not any material that is in the present cable release. If anyone who likes mysterious altruism of the highest morality and likes to be an unpaid apprentice in the intelligence community, then by all means get this file. You will be sorry that you did not if and when the key is released.

  6. in my opinion ,the media is nothing but a buffoon show!!

  7. As Seymour Hersh reported US soldiers raped Iraqi boys in front of their mothers while it was filmed by female-soldiers. The Gestapo and the SS were nice people ! In Fallujah kids are born with two heads because of weapons with depleted uranium used by The Great Satan.

  8. Claus…..Where can I find THAT …….?????????

Hersh’s contention that minors were raped by prison guards while others filmed the vulgar spectacle is backed up by a leaked Abu Ghraib memorandum highlighted in a 2004 London Guardian report, in which detainees Kasim Hilas describes “the rape of an Iraqi boy by a man in uniform”. The testimony was also part of the military’s official Taguba Report into the torture at Abu Ghraib.

“I saw [name blacked out] fucking a kid, his age would be about 15-18 years. The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets. Then when I heard the screaming I climbed the door because on top it wasn’t covered and I saw [blacked out], who was wearing the military uniform putting his dick in the little kid’s ass,” Mr Hilas told military investigators. “I couldn’t see the face of the kid because his face wasn’t in front of the door. And the female soldier was taking pictures.”

  10. Nearly two and a half million people had access to these cables and war logs; material which included archived footage of the cold blooded murder of unarmed civilians by US forces. Just one of them alone had the the conscience and the courage to do the right thing.
It has become clear today that it is the British establishment preventing Assange's release and not Sweden, as earlier reported, and so it is beginning to look as though Julian Assange might soon be joining Bradley Manning as an inmate of a US jail. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/dec/15/julia

  11. Whatever happened to Seymour Hersh?

  12. Over 35 years ago I was about to graduate from High School and had the brief opportunity to speak to a then well known european journalist. I told him I was thinking about either going into engineering or jourmalism. He told me to go into engineering. American journalism he said was composed at the top of individuals who are underworked, overpaid, extremely bias and don't check their facts. He told me that real journalists laugh behind the backs at American ones. Do I think that's the case today? No, I think the situation is even worse.

  13. rely i appreciate the journalist who create this web site which cold wikileaks
    thank you very much.
