Grant F. Smith, director of the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy in Washington, D.C., discusses how Steven Rosen’s lawsuit disclosures are shining a light on the highly-secretive inner workings of AIPAC; the pro-Israel media’s focus on the “injury of the United States” part of the Espionage Act while ignoring the “advantage of a foreign nation” part; why Attorney General Eric Holder would rather prosecute WikiLeaks than AIPAC; Rosen’s violation of court proceeding rules that may get his case dismissed; and the 1700 or so generous donors to AIPAC – many of whom also support Israel’s Likud Party – who essentially dictate US foreign policy in the Middle East.

Grant F. Smith is the author of Spy Trade: How Israel’s Lobby Undermines America’s Economy, America’s Defense Line: The Justice Department’s Battle to Register the Israel Lobby as Agents of a Foreign Government and Foreign Agents: The American Israel Public Affairs Committee from the 1963 Fulbright Hearings to the 2005 Espionage Scandal. He is a frequent contributor to Radio France Internationale and Voice of America’s Foro Interamericano. Smith has also appeared on BBC News, CNN, and C-SPAN. He is currently director of the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy in Washington, D.C.

  2. If you ripped off the cover of a neo-nazi book on Israel, you could probably hand it out, to deafening applause, to the readers of your blog.

  3. Noah…shake off your "victim" posture. It does not work anymore.
Thanks Scott! Keep the subject alive.

  4. AIPAC is a beast. It follows the rules from a higher authority which happens to be likud party of Israel. The Likud is an old organization called the stern gang which had to reinvent itself after it was too much of a terrorist organization to be ignored. AIPAC clearly is an evil organization which employees government officials or gather their support with bribes as the case of the prostitutes in our congress or senate. Lets hope that they have crossed that line which gets the public to finally understand what AIPAC really is. Israel is a wonderful concept kidnapped by terrorist. Lets hope that the radical left wing can be removed from political influence in Israel before we all end up dead in another war stated by the truly insane of Israel which is the radical left.

  5. AIPAC is a slimy, perfidious organization whose only purpose is to further Israel's interests at the expense of America's. Piss on 'em.

Eric Holder's pretty "brave" in going after WikiLeaks, but he's a douche bag when it comes to AIPAC, and Israeli espionage against America.

What can I say to Grant Smith, except "Carry on!"

  6. people like noah are human colostomy bags
