Investigative reporter Jason Leopold discusses sometime-collaborator Jeffrey Kaye’s article “Guantanamo Detainee Files Hint at Psychological Research;” the great American hero Bradley Manning; the WikiLeaks Guantanamo files that reveal bad intelligence on detainees, many of whom were held for ten years without being suspected of terrorism; how Gitmo served as a propaganda and double-agent production facility; how antiamalarial drugs may have exacerbated the conditions of 100 mentally ill and suicidal prisoners; the proof that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld knew most Gitmo inmates were innocent; Chris Floyd’s take on the NYT’s horrendous Guantanamo coverage; and the Gitmo defense lawyers who can’t use WikiLeaks documents to make their cases, and think Obama is worse than Bush on government abuse of the classification system.

  1. If you hadn't noticed, the best rule of thumb for O is that he does the opposite to what he says.

That includes everything, not just Gitmo.

  2. Quite right. There's a vast disconnect between what O-Bomb-a says, and what he does.

The Guantanamo travesty is an indelible stain on America's honor. Of course, the U.S. Government is heedless of the Constitution and law anyway. . . .

  3. People are so brainwashed into supporting their "team" that if Bush did what Obama does, people would be critical. But when Obama does it they make excuses for him. Just yesterday I was speaking to my father-in-law who was very optimistic that now OBL is gone, Obama will pull out of Afghanistan. I told him I'd bet him 1000 to 1 that we'd (US + allied lackeys) still be there long after Obama is gone.

  4. AS LONG AS THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO SLAUGHTER HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, NO AMERICAN WILL BE SAFE ANYWHERE. IMAGINE IF THE RED CHINESE WERE IN AMERICA BY THE THOUSANDS, BOMBING OUR CITIES, KILLING OUR CHILDREN? WOULD WE HATE THE CHINESE? OF COURSE! WHO IS THE LEADING WORLD TERRORIST STATE: U.S. JUST THE BODY COUNT ALONE PROVES THIS. I AM ASHAMED TO BE AN AMERICAN………
