Shawn Amoei, foreign policy writer at the Huffington Post, discusses his article “Silencing the Moderate Middle;” The MEK’s decades-long plan for a violent coup in Iran – with absolutely no domestic popular support; reasons why would this group should not be removed from the State Department’s terrorism list, but probably will be anyway; the many enemies – foreign and domestic – of Iran’s moderate Green Movement; and the US-based supporters and bankrollers of MEK’s public relations machine.

  1. the americans support every terroist on the planet and give billions in aid while the schools, roads fall apart.forget aboiut retiring as there will be no money as the american kids get dumer as clinton gives it to the MEK and isreal all who really hate americans

  2. Did Shawn happen to also mention that his boss at National Iranian American Council, Trita Parsi, has been under the payroll of the CIA? This is a documented fact admitted, under oath, by Trita himself in the court case that Shawn mentioned a couple fo times in his Huffington Post article.

  3. you have your head up your ass which is why you're talking such shit

  4. At 23 yrs old, Shawn Amoei is a cocky, misinformed trouble maker, who sounds more like a Iranian regime agent than a moderate. The only group who fears the MEK, besides NIAC and Trita Parsi is the Iranian regime. Isnt it interesting that Shawn aligns with a well known Iranian agent, Trita Parsi and pushes a pro regime sentiment against delisting the MEK. Where is the moderate postition? Shawn, Parsi and the Iranian regime have the same agenda- fear of MEK. They are the only ones in agreement against the MEK. Seems like the writing is on the wall, the ones the moderates should fear are Iranian agents Shawn Amoei, Trita Parsi, NIAC and the Iranian regime.

  5. The MEK is nothing more than a degenerate marxist islamic cult who deserve nothing more than to be wiped from this Earth. Bring it on!

  6. Dear Mr. Horton,____Why don't you invite Amoei back and ask him why he used legitimate organizations names illegally and without permission to sponsor a NIAC event in Plano, Texas. Then ask him why he and Parsi tried to block human rights workers from entering the event. Ask him why at a public event cameras, recording devices or any means of documenting what went on at the discussion were disallowed and the press was told they had to leave, but after some commotion, the reporter was allowed to stay as long as she didn't record or take notes.

  7. Ask him why NIAC Staff altered participants questions and then had the nerve to call them MEK when they protested the modification of their question to Parsi. Then ask why the NIAC thugs put their hands on my friend and Plano Police had to intervene. Ask him why Parsi lives and works in the United States but sent his pay to a hidden bank account in Sweden and did not pay taxes on any of it. Ask him why the Iranian regime is funding NIAC through Parsa Grants to the tune of $450,000.00 to a supposed 501c3 (Illegal Lobby) that has broken multiple foreign agent laws and reporting regulations. Should I go on Mr. Horton? Ask him what a Tudeh is, He should Know. Ask him why his parents went back to iran?____You should find out what kind of trash your dealing with before you invite them on your program, not after. Ask him if he knows Terita's dad is a IRGC Intelligence agent. A word of advice Mr. Horton, don't worry so much about the Tea Party and Republicans and start worrying about the communist you interview. You really need to do some homework son. Have a nice day.

  8. TheVeni1 really says it all. Almost everything Amoei says is factually incorrect, hypocritical and slanderous. Only someone who works for NIAC and Parsi could make themselves appear this naive. 'Stupidity or the plan'? NIAC, Parsi et al continue to be the Iranian regime's 'useful idiot's. Thanks very much boys for reinforcing this once again in your interview and get ready for the libel lawsuits which will surely be coming your way.

  9. Bob- I would love you to give the links supporting your comments. Every terrorist on the planet? Not sure I'm living in the same US as you are? Seems like you are friends with every MEK and Israeli as you so confidently state you know they "all" hate Americans. Wow, you have supernatural powers it appears. I'm so impressed.

  10. I'd fear the MEK myself, if I had any reason to believe that they'd get paid for car-bombing or assassinating An-Cap Taxi Drivers in the Pacific North West.

Right now, they blow up Badge slingers and clipboard toters in the Iranian Regime (With a large dose of psychotic "Collateral Damage") – At the request of, and in paid service to Badge Slingers and Clipboard Toters of Mordor on the Patomac.

So I think the Spec for hating on the MEK, there is "Doesn't like it when innocent people are murdered by power hungry hypocrites and psychotics."

You caught me out, there. I am totally biases in favor of children continuing to breathe.

I must be some sort of extremist.

  11. Shawn, you are really a good liar. congratulations!

  12. Dear Mr. Horton,
I appreciate you allowing all with various view points to speak without being filtered, that is how real democracy should work. You are to be commended, thank you.

Issues related to Iran are very complex and you need to fully educate yourself before you are conned by the regime handlers to invite known regime agents and apologists disguised as Iranian-American anti-war groups to appear on your show.

You might consider the following if you really want to want to find out who is who and their impact on America, Americans and our foreign policy.

I am not a fan of MEK. But please consider who is calling MEK a terrorist organization? Let me answer it: The Islamic Republic of Iran, who helped found the Hezbullah. Kenneth Timmerman, a Nobel Prize nominee, in his best seller book Countdown to Crisis successfully connects 9/11 to Iran. Iran is as stated by the State Department and Secretary Clinton is a “state sponsor of terrorism.”

The Iranian regime does not like MEK, for several reasons without getting too technical here: During the last legs of Iran-Iraq war, where both countries were assisted by Israel and the United States (Iran-Contra), Khomeini realizing that the joke was on him, faced with prospects of losing the war (his expansionist doctrine of road to Jerusalem is through Baghdad) was collapsing right before his very own eyes, determined that nuclear weapons must be a necessary arsenal of the Iranian Army and gave orders to develop nuclear weapons ASAP and secretly. Despite our CIA’s capacities and IAEA's many trips to Iran, it was MEK who revealed and proved that Mullahs are secretly developing nuclear weapons. Point being, IRI has plenty of reasons to hate MEK and discredit and slander it.

As much as I appreciate Iranian youths engaging in politics, Shawn is a young, arrogant, pompous, careless, IRI and NIAC useful idiot who is doing Trita’s dirty work and unfortunately he does not even know it.

The defamation lawsuit brought against Hassan Dai and NIAC is in its 3rd year, Hassan Dai has successfully proven that NIAC is an IRI lobbyist mostly through NIAC’s own internal documents, but yet NIAC has not been able to provide a single document that proves Hassan Dai is a MEK member, despite the fact that they have raked him over the coals and almost forced him into bankruptcy, during the past three year. Hassan Dai is a gentle soul, and an admirable and a source of pride for many Iranian-American. He is almost like a hero among the Iranian-American protesters, who dared to expose the powerful NIAC headed by a bully like Trita who wants to “seize and desist” anyone that opposes it. Hassan Dai appears regularly as an Iran analyst. VOA is an arm of the American government. If Hassan Dai was MEK, would he be invited by VOA. This shows Shawn's "Alice in Wonder land logic (Mousavi is the savior) and Shy is falling rhetoric (scare tactic to frighten Americans)

Shawn’s ego is writing checks that his body cannot cash. Trita with his arrogance made the biggest mistake by filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Dai. Trita in his depositions blames his mistakes on his youth and inexperience. Shawn’s arrogant pride and lack of knowledge and slanderous remarks will likely get him in legal trouble, by either MEK, a well-financed, group or perhaps by Timmerman and Hassan Dai, if he is not careful.

Mr. Horton, you are being duped by Shawn and those IRI apologists purporting to be anti-war. Fact is, it is people like Shawn and NIAC that might lead the US and Iran to war. NIAC, as a lobby organization, is commissioned to ease sanctions and buy enough time to a terrorist regime, to develop its nuclear program. Leaders of the free world have already said that an nuclear Iran is a threat to world peace. Now, you be the judge who are the real warmongers, Timmerman, Dai, Reza Pahlavi, or NIAC, Hezbollah and useful idiots such as Shawn. Yes, Shawn is pro Hezbollah, just ask him if he thinks Hezbollah is a terrorist organization?

I will be more than happy to provide you with true anti-war Iranian-American experts to shed more lite on this ever complicated issue, if you are in fact interested in finding out the truth and are not providing lip service to IRI lobbyists.

Please let me know and thanks for allowing us to take part in the discussion.

  13. This is the worst piece of propaganda ever seen. No need to add what already has been said about Shawn's NIAC link, an organization founded and funded by Oil companies and multibillionaire go-in-betweens. I just feel sad more about the Antiwar anchor. He talks with such hatred against MEK as if he was sitting in Tehran with Ahmadijead, while he doesn’t have a clue of were Camp Ashraf is.
For your information MEK is much more Antiwar than any other organization. They were totally against the War on Iraq and have a declared plan rejecting the War with Iran too. Whereas NIAC and lobby groups who work hard to help the regime to advance its’ secret nuclear projects actually help the War. Because if Iran gets the BOMB then the war inevitable, Israelis won’t wait!

  14. I feel sad that you – probably goodhearted people, get into Iran regime’s traps all the time. MEK are the victim of a brutal dictatorship. 120 thousands of its sympathizers have been massacred by the regime just for their political opinion. Read this if you wonder how MEK raise their funds, to see that they collect cent by cent from ordinary meager people who long to see their country free: http://newsblaze.com/story/20110728052742sraj.nb/
Their unarmed members at Camp Ashraf are constantly attacked and killed by Iraqi forces while US forces on the ground watch by. All the evidence NIAC refers to is fabricated lies by Iran regime lobbies to hamper the MEK and keep them in black list so the mullahs will keep killing innocent people in Iran and advance their nuclear projects.
You guys should wake up and not be so naive to fail for this cheep propaganda. Iran intelligence instructs its agents like Amoie to play victims to the left as if Iran would be the 2nd victim after Iraq, whereas Iran was behind masterminding the US’s discredited war on Iraq to get rid of his archenemy Saddam and to enchain the democratic MEK.

  15. I am so confused as to why everyone thinks NIAC is an agent of the Islamic Republic. No agent of the IRI would continuously criticize its human rights record. Clearly, the people talking about NIAC don't know much about it, other than what Hassan Dai has said– who is being sued for such blatant defamation.

And Iran was not the only one to put the MEK on the terrorist list. The MEK is a violent extremist cult–as documented by the State Department, FBI, Human Rights Watch, RAND Corporation, and others. I would like all the MEK-supporters in this comment list to respond to that, and to please defend the death of Americans that has occurred at their hands.

  16. Saying MEK has no support is pure rubbish! This organization has given 120 000 deaths, it
is the main opposition of Iran. It has an official resistance in Camp Ashraf, and it is the symbol of hope…I know it, Iranians know it…and those who hate the struggle obviously loves this tyrannical regime….

So USA should do as Europe and delist the MEK…There is no legal accusation except the "friendly gesture to the Iranian regime" made back in 1997..NOTHING justifies MEK being on the FTO list…The Iranian regime's indoctrinated propaganda is nothing compared to pure evidence…Thank you!

  17. I know Shawn Amoei very well in person, were both from Dallas Texas. He is just a kid which trita parsi is using him as a tools against MEK and helping mullah's regimein Iran.

He doesn't know the basic human right and freedom of speech . If you read his article about MEK is exactly as mullah's terrorist regime of Iran are saying against MEK. Iran people like me by thousands love our strongest opposition group MEK and they are the one who is going to remove this mullah's regime in Iran.

We would like all people around the world to joint us front of state department on August 26 from 10:00A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for De-listing MEK.

  18. You MEK commie rat cultists make me sick. You can threaten to sue me, and make veiled threats of violence against my guest – "checks his body can't cash" – but you don't scare us one little bit. Why don't you go work for the Ayatollah, I mean Saddam, I mean Don Rumsfeld, I mean the Israelis some more. (Forgive me, it can be difficult to keep track of who you murder people for at any given time, you pathetic little sock-puppets.) Go back to your little Heaven's Gate cult, worship Karl Marx and launder some bogus Israeli lies about bomb factories in tunnels outside of Tehran some more, you kooks. http://www.scribd.com/doc/15647534/US-State-Depar

"During the 1970s, the MEK assassinated several U.S. military personnel and U.S. civilians working on defense projects in Tehran and supported the violent takeover in 1979 of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. Despite U.S. efforts, MEK members have never been brought to justice for the group's role in these illegal acts.

"In 1981, MEK leadership attempted to overthrow the newly installed Islamic regime; Iranian security forces subsequently initiated a crackdown on the group. The MEK instigated a bombing campaign, including an attack against the head office of the Islamic Republic Party and the Prime Minister's office, which killed some 70 high-ranking Iranian officials, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei, and Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar. These attacks resulted in a popular uprising against the MEK and an expanded Iranian government crackdown which forced MEK leaders to flee to France. For five years, the MEK continued to wage its terrorist campaign from its Paris headquarters. Expelled by France in 1986, MEK leaders turned to Saddam Hussein's regime for basing, financial support, and training. Near the end of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War, Baghdad armed the MEK with heavy military equipment and deployed thousands of MEK fighters in suicidal, mass wave attacks against Iranian forces.

"The MEK's relationship with the former Iraqi regime continued through the 1990s. In 1991, the group reportedly assisted in the Iraqi Republican Guard's bloody crackdown on Iraqi Shia and Kurds who rose up against Saddam Hussein's regime; press reports cite MEK leader Maryam Rajavi encouraging MEK members to "take the Kurds under your tanks."

  19. Nice try with the name association change. Hassan Dai didn't inform us about Trita Parsi and NIAC. The information gathered from Parsi's own office and Parsi's own deposition under oath prove his relationship with the IRI and illegal finances. Parsi's behavior in Plano, Texas which is well documented is also cause for concern. We AMERICANS will not tolerate his regime like behavior in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Semper Fi!____Walton K. Martin III – Director__The Iran Information Project

  20. Hassan Dai didn't inform us about Trita Parsi and NIAC. The information gathered from Parsi's own office and Parsi's own deposition under oath prove his relationship with the IRI and illegal distribution of finances from the NED. Parsi's behavior in Plano, Texas which is well documented is also cause for concern. We AMERICANS will not tolerate his regime like behavior in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Semper Fi!

  21. [...] “Shawn’s ego is writing checks that his body cannot cash.” [...]

  22. Patethic!! Are you a journalist or a REDNECK or a pure ignorant fool that works for the Mullahs for free??

  23. This was posted by The Veni here http://www.scotthortonshow.com/2011/08/06/antiwar
and I copied and pasted to have a collective response so that all can see our reaction to Amoie antisemitism and hatemongering:

Dear Mr. Horton,____Why don’t you invite Amoei back and ask him why he used legitimate organizations names illegally and without permission to sponsor a NIAC event in Plano, Texas. Then ask him why he and Parsi tried to block human rights workers from entering the event. Ask him why at a public event cameras, recording devices or any means of documenting what went on at the discussion were disallowed and the press was told they had to leave, but after some commotion, the reporter was allowed to stay as long as she didn’t record or take notes.

  24. With relation to NIAC, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence uses the 80/20strategy in demonizing the true opposition namely the MEK. This means that subordinate organizations be allowed to criticize the regime up to 80% of the time as long as they spend the rest demonizing the MEK. So it is not surprising that NIAC makes minimal criticism of the regime. If you demonize the only strong organized opposition, the West is then under the impression that the regime is here to stay and that endless negotiations are the only option next to war. Now NIAC, if you listen closely only speaks of political prisoners arrested after the election and violations since then. Because they are tied to a faction within the system. I personally have been to a an event before the election protests several years ago in which Trita Parsi tried to whitewash the regime's crimes by blaming external pressure on human righsts as the reason for the regimes violations. Trita Parsi does the bidding of those factions in the regime who are economic players and those entities in the West that have a vested economic interest in the current regime staying put. The documents do not lie.

Now, you cite the RAND and HRW reports which have already been examined, dissected, and proven as disinformation by countless reports and experts. Here are a few of them. I would hope that you take the time to study. (Courting Disaster: http://bit.ly/pF76SB ; EU Parliament Mission Report "The People's Mojahedin of Iran": http://bit.ly/q1nUvn ; Iran Foreign Policy Challenges and Choices: http://bit.ly/pY2Xau ) The death of Americans was not at the had of the MEK but a splinter faction that attempted to take over the organization and turn it a Marxist organization after the Shah arrested and executed almost the whole leadership and top cadres.

  25. It is a smoke screen. Ask Trita what he thinks of Khamenei? Ask him what he thinks of Hezbollah?. He is ahte monger, antisemite, hates Israel. Go to http://www.iranian.com and read NIAC's internal memos and then you will not be that confused. It was recently revealed that Trita was paid by Iran and stashed it in his Sweden account to avoid detection and paying taxes.

  26. Additionally, the FBI's director for nearly over a decade Louis Freeh himself has stated that the allegations against the MEK are unfounded. He also has stated that his bureau was never consulted before the MEK was listed. Here are some of his comments ( http://bit.ly/pbRe7z )

  27. So much for an objective talk show host. Why do not you invite others to come on to your show if you have the knowledge and the guts. You are paper tigers and can not stand scrutiny. Asking Shawn a list of pre-written questions and him having Trita fill them out for him…shows your bias and do not tell me you did not. Why don't you ask Trita, Shawn to debate any one of us?

  28. Wow, you sound like a basiji and revolutionary guard animal. Ignorance is bliss to some. Your hysterical rant doesn't make what you say true. All your bogus misinformation has been rebutted with evidence to back it. Courting Disaster: http://bit.ly/pF76SB ; EU Parliament Mission Report "The People's Mojahedin of Iran": http://bit.ly/q1nUvn ; Iran Foreign Policy Challenges and Choices: http://bit.ly/pY2Xau . Kurd leader and current foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari himself has written affidavit to a court stating that the MEK never involved the Iraqi crackdown. The document is in black and white in the links I provided. But you know more than Mr. Zebari right?!

  29. Sorry Scott, this happens all the time when IRI's useful idiots are challenged and now it includes you as well. If you can not have a healthy debate and are used to your monologues, then shut down your comment area, because responses speak volumes about the slimy rat you interviewed, who is a pathological liar. NIAC has 25000 members according to Trita, why do not they come to your buddy's rescue and say how Brilliant your little liar stooge was! If you can not stand the heat, get the hell out.

  30. Yes, please invite Shawn back for a debate rather than a pre written interview. PLEASE! I will even donate to your $200 dollars if he and $1000 if Trita accept.

    Dr. Arash Irandoost – 3/29/2011

Just who in America is the final arbiter of free speech? If you guessed Trita Parsi of NIAC and Bryan Mark Rigg, instead of the United States Supreme Court, you may not be exaggerating. While the highest court has just affirmed in an 8-1 ruling that speech, touching areas of public concern, deserves the highest level of protection in furtherance of public debate, Trita Parsi and his Speech Czar were hard at work disregarding such ruling. There may be no criminal punishment against these speech-minders but there certainly has been a heaping dose of public disgust and hopefully foreseeable damage to their already tarnished reputation and their professional standing as result. Specially, when Trita and his event sponsors assumed anyone who disagreed with them would automatically create some kind of disturbance at their event. This kind of unbridled and arbitrary power is alarming and certainly not consistent with the Supreme Court’s recent vindication of "free debate of public issues.”
Dr. Trita Parsi purports to represent the Iranian-American interests in the United States. The Center for Security Policy cites NIAC as a lobby organization for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Mr. Hassan Dai, a renowned Iran expert, has researched Mr. Trita Parsi’s lobby activities extensively and has provided an abundance of evidence using NIAC’s own documents obtained as a result of a defamation lawsuit against him by NIAC.
The so-called event took place in Plano, Texas on February 26, 2011. It was advertised as a “public” event in the Iranian local media and was sponsored by four area organizations. According to their websites …more here

  32. You terrorists are hilarious. Want to challenge the fact that y'all used to be the sock-puppets of the Ayatollah, then Saddam Hussein, then Donald Rumsfeld and Israel? That you helped put down the Kurd and Shia uprising in Iraq in 1991? No, because we *already know* you are guilty. And that the people of Iran would pitch you all into the sea if they had the chance. So instead of challenging a single statement of fact, you just boo hoo on and on like little crybabies, making fools of yourselves for all to see. Pathetic boo hoo little bitches that you are.

  33. Wow these guys are on the IR payroll. They deleted all my comments with links and documentation rebutting the bogus allegations. Desperate times call for desperate measures dont they you mullah lapdogs.

  34. Mandana, I can give you several links to youtube videoes that MEK learship members are taking money from Sadam's secret police. But can you your readers the link to "documented fact" that Parsi is on CIA payroll? This is the first time I am hearing this claim of being on CIA payroll.
    Thanks in advance

  35. Debbie, it is not fare at all to mention that IRI is the only one who fear MEK. I am an activist against IRI and fear MEK also. There are many Iranians inside and outside who fear MEK.
MEK history speaks for itself, a stong suporter of Khomeini, sleeping in the same bed with Sadam, cooporating with Iraqi's forces during the Iran-Iraq war, massacaring Kurdish people in Iraq, …….
Please ta ke a look at the Farsi documents at http://golshan.com/asnaad/mojahed/mojahed.html
One more question, Why MEK does not post its old publication if it is not afraid of its past?

  36. Patriot,
We need to be accurate. MEK has never been a Marxist organization with the exception of the priod that there was a devision in the organizations. The founder of MEK and the MEK after revolution are all muslim. I do not like MEK either but mentioning such an absolute and broad statement is not going to help.
I am against execution however I believe the leaders of MEK and their associates in NRCI such as Fadaiian organization should be put on trial in an independent and just court and if became guilty then deal with them accordingly. They are all colaberators.

  37. I assume this coming from one of ultra right wing, self centered, full of hate for all muslim people around the world, name DOCTOR Gharebaghi or one his accociates,
Please take a look at the Farsi section of http://golshan.com/neo/safar/safar.htm

  38. Dear Iranian-American,
How come I do not see anything in your writing about MEK and their cooperation with both IRI rejim and Iraqis rejim. Is your problem Iranian people enemy or NIAC.
I would like to know your opinion about the documents submitted in the following link, they are all in Farsi (hopefully you can read Farsi) and direct copy of their publication (mostly).
    http://golshan.com/asnaad/mojahed/mojahed.html

    Waiting…

  39. Leila
I agree that MEK is another victom of IRI such as the rest of the Iranian people. However please do not ignore that their cooperation with Khomeini and Saddam was a choice that they made and they should be held accountable for that. http://golshan.com/asnaad/mojahed/mojahed.html

  40. Soavi
MEK has no support in Iran with the exception of few. Please read the first paragraph when Rajavi is claiming that he was the most popular person in Iran at http://golshan.com/asnaad/mojahed/html/navad.html This type of claim of 90% (+/-) can come up from those who has no connection with Iranian people in Iran
90% wow even such ill brain Ahmadinejad does not make such claim.

  41. Reza, I know both of you well. However I find him very intelligent, deep understanding of Iranian people cause and active on so many front agains IRI. I also know you being active agaist IRI. The problem is as a supporter of MEK you could never answer me when I confronted you with old MEK publication regrading IRI.

  42. Scott,
I beieve you have been misinformed about the MEK history and their ideaology. They are cultish and pro-war group, I have no doubt about it. But fact is fact and you may want to read other progressive sources regarding MEK history.
I am peace activist myself and not talking from the same background that you are trying to promot, anti-war and for social justice.

  43. Heh. Yeah right. The dog ate your rebuttal.

  44. Bijan, people have been brainwashed that MEK members are terrorists for over 30 years by the Iranian regime with their indoctrinated propaganda…saying openly that you support MEK will result in immediate execution. Even if you know someone who is a MEK support and don't tell the Regime is dangerous…so what does this tell you? That MEK is the Iranian regimes worst nightmare…it has the most capability alongside the people to destroy them…but MEK welcomes anybody who stands up against the Iranian regime….instead of throwing stones at each other… we should embrace those who work hard and bring freedom to our country….start of by delisting the MEK..

  45. Death to the MEK traitors. If they show their faces in Iran they will get them bashed in by both old and young.

  46. Also, I am iranian, for the record. Keep exposing the MEK for the terrorist traitor lowlives they are!
Marg bar MEK. Vakhtike Ashraf shologh shod va 30 MEK mordan ma dast zadim.

  47. the mek isn´t a terrorist organization!! they only fight fur human rights in iran !! and they are no marxists !!! the real terrorist is the iranian regime!! THEY killed(executed million of people!!! OPEN YOUR EYES !!!
delete mek from the terrorist-list !!

  48. You forgot Russia! Wow, such a disappointment.! So any body who disagrees with you and your arrogant protege who could only answer your questions by reading off a a pre-written set of answers is a terrorist. Ant you claim to be an anti war guy? Such a hypocrite! Why don't you allow a healthy debate to take place rather labeling any responder as "Commi's" and terrorists. Don't you think, the government that your young stooge is trying to protect is the real terrorist. Just look at how much money they have poured into Hizballah? You are anti-semite and a hatemonger! So sad! and They pay you to do this. I would fire anybody in my organization who talked to its customers like this!

  49. Dear Soavi
Believe me, I do NOT believe that MEK is a terorist organization. All I am saying is the fact that they cloaborated with the Iraqi's regime and now they are alligning themselve with the group of neocons that want to extend the Iraq Afghanistan Yeman Pakistan war to Iran. Our people suffering of broad sanction does not satisfaying some hawks like Bolton and they are bitting on War drum. I have been involved against IRI even before revolution since I knew their true faces. It was a heart breaking to see an organization formed by Rezaiiha and Saeed Mohsen were lead (and still leading) by Rajavi who fully supported Khomeini.
His policy did not changed just the boss was different, from khomeini to saddam and not the neocons?
Honestly, I work with every body who is for human rights and against the war not just related to Iranian people but to human race.

  50. “Did Shawn happen to also mention that his boss at National Iranian American Council, Trita Parsi, has been under the payroll of the CIA?”

According to what evidence? Oh let me guess, you can’t tell us because it’s a secret.

Of course if he was under the payroll of the CIA, the he would be an enemy if the regime in Tehran.

“This is a documented fact admitted, under oath, by Trita himself in the court case that Shawn mentioned a couple fo times in his Huffington Post article.”

By all means, feel free to link  to that article.

  51. Great interview Scott,

You really got the AIPAC, I mean MEK, ummm I mean NIAC, not nake that AEI, sorry I mean concerned Iranian American citizens worried.

Please ratchet up the noise on these terrorist thugs and their deranged cult followers.

  52. “Believe me, I do NOT believe that MEK is a terorist organization.”

Who cares what you believe Bijan? Iran’s population does (including the Green movement) and so has the State Department for the last 30 years.

There us no question they are a terrorist group.

  53. “But can you your readers the link to “documented fact” that Parsi is on CIA payroll? This is the first time I am hearing this claim of being on CIA payroll”

I’m sure theyvwoulduf they could Bijan.

No doubt, the evidence is hidden along with Saddam’s WMD.

Of course, if he was on the CIA payroll, that would make him an enemy of Tehran, not an operative.

  54. >> You MEK commie rat cultists make me sick. You can threaten to sue me, and make veiled threats of violence against my guest – "checks his body can't cash" – but you don't scare us one little bit.

Don;t you love it Scott. They'll make threats of violence (ie. using terrorism) but don't you dare call tehm terrorists.

  55. >> Are you a journalist or a REDNECK or a pure ignorant fool that works for the Mullahs for free??

Yeah right hamid. What a fool. He should be on the AIPAC/MEK payroll like you and do it in style.

  56. >> Why do not you invite others to come on to your show if you have the knowledge and the guts.

    Who do you suggest?

    >> Why don't you ask Trita, Shawn to debate any one of us?

Why? Do you liek being humiliated?

  57. >> the mek isn´t a terrorist organization!! they only fight fur human rights in iran

How does setting off bombs and setting fire to themselves further human rights?

Even the most extreme estimates put the total executed by Iran in the tens of thousands, nowhere near a million.

    MEK is a terrorst group.

  58. >> Ask him why Parsi lives and works in the United States but sent his pay to a hidden bank account in Sweden and did not pay taxes on any of it

After you produce evidence of this allegation and then explain why the IRS aren't doign anything about it.

    >> Ask him why the Iranian regime is funding NIAC through Parsa Grants to the tune of $450,000.00 to a supposed 501c3 (Illegal Lobby) that has broken multiple foreign agent laws and reporting regulations.

Care to cite those laws and provide evidnece of wrongdoing?

    >> Should I go on Mr. Horton?

After you produce evidence, rather than baselsss allegations.

    >> Ask him if he knows Terita's dad is a IRGC Intelligence agent.

After you provide evidence to prove it.

    >> A word of advice Mr. Horton, don't worry so much about the Tea Party and Republicans and start worrying about the communist you interview.

Very funny. If he was a communist, then Iran would hardly be a safe haven for him and his parents.

The secret to being a good liar is remembering all the lies you tell.

    You need to practice.

  59. >> Almost everything Amoei says is factually incorrect, hypocritical and slanderous.

Sorry, did Amoei say somethign to offers your terrorist organization?

    >> Thanks very much boys for reinforcing this once again in your interview and get ready for the libel lawsuits which will surely be coming your way.

Yes, let's see how far your empty threats take you along legal channels. It's not as straight forward as setting off bombs, so you might be in for a shock.

  60. Iranian-American,

If you wish to be viewed with any credibility, you might try proving your allegations (with evidence) . Simply claiming someone is a “known regime agent” might impress your fellow MEK cultists, but it doesn’t convince the rest of us.

You asked who is calling MEK a terrorist organization, without stopping to think that the US has done so for decades. Hezbollah is part of the government of the ruling coalition in Lebanon. They are not considered a terrorist group by the EU.

Kenneth Timmerman is a liar and a propagandist. His pathetic and feeble attempt s to connect Ira to 9/11 have not been at all successful. The US intelligence community does not agree with the allegation . Even the crazy Dick Cheney, who was desperate to bomb Iran didn’t consider Timmerman’s fairy tale to be credible.

The State Department might regards Iran as a “state sponsor of terrorism” but that is a meaningless phrase. The US and Israel and unapologetic sponsors of terrorism.

Your ridiculous account of the Iraq/Iraq war is almost amusing. Iraq started the war with Iran, so it’s clearly false to suggest that Khomeini was indulging in any expansionist fantasy of road to Jerusalem through Baghdad.

The MEK did NOT prove Iran were developing nuclear weapons. They proved that Iran had an enrichment facility, that it turns out, was in compliance with the IAEA safeguards obligations. That is why we’ve witnessed 2 successive National IN4lligence estimates that say Iran is not developing nukes. In fact, the MEK is now regarded by the CIA and being a discredited and untrustworthy source of intelligence.

Hassan Dai (Sayed Hassan Daioleslam ) is the new darling of the neocons, who has been attacking Trita Parsi and the NIAC. It’s little wonder that Dai headed for Paris, France when he left Iran, seeing as Paris is a hotbed place for the MEK. His siblings, Hussein Daioleslam and Fatemeh Daioleslam are high-ranking leaders of the MEK, so there is little doubt that he is connected to the cult. Former MEK member, Mohammad Sobhani, has confirmed that Dai belongs to the MEK. The US government has demonstrated that it is perfectly willing to turn a blind eye to terrorist groups,so it’s no surprise that he was invited by the VOA.

The MEK has been puching for war with Iran, not the NIAC. After all, it’s the MEK that is feeding bogus intelligence about Iranian nukes to the US, not the NIAC. As for being a threat to world peace, polls show that the US and Israel are regarded as a greater threat than Iran.
You’re the one being duped, or worse, trying to dupe others.

    It’s not going to work.

PS. Stop lying abotu Iranian nukes. We know more about the subject then you ever will.

  61. >> He talks with such hatred against MEK as if he was sitting in Tehran with Ahmadijead, while he doesn’t have a clue of were Camp Ashraf is.

The MEK is hated throughotu Iran too. They are a terrorist group. What's not to hate?

  62. >> MEK are the victim of a brutal dictatorship.

Very funny. Were they also victim of a brutal dictatorship under the Shah?

    >>All the evidence NIAC refers to is fabricated lies by Iran regime lobbies to hamper the MEK and keep them in black list so the mullahs will keep killing innocent people in Iran and advance their nuclear projects.

That's is the most pathetic lie I have ever heard. If the MEK were so innicent, then how did they end up on the State Department's list of terrorist groups? Did the US also buy Iran's propaganda?

    >> Iran was behind masterminding the US’s discredited war on Iraq to get rid of his archenemy Saddam and to enchain the democratic MEK.

Apprently you seem to believe that Americans are incredible stupid and gullible. The fact is that the neocons wanted the war. Whatever role Iran played was incidental.

  63. >> Parsi's behavior in Plano, Texas which is well documented is also cause for concern

Documented by whom? MEK sympathisers perhaps. The only reference to Parsi's behavior in Plano seems to be on a PDMI blog.

    >> We AMERICANS will not tolerate his regime like behavior in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.

    You Americans? Too funny.

  64. >> With relation to NIAC, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence uses the 80/20strategy in demonizing the true opposition namely the MEK

The MEK is not the true opposition. They are despised by all sides politics in Iran and regarded as traitors. No one with any patriontism towards their country would side with the enemy to fight it.

    >> I personally have been to a an event before the election protests several years ago in which Trita Parsi tried to whitewash the regime's crimes by blaming external pressure on human righsts as the reason for the regimes violations.

Parti was correct. The US government has made no effort to hide that it is findign opositjon groups and terrirost organizations like the MEK and Jundula to create chaos and unrest in Iran. After all, they did in 1953 and it worked like a charm.

    >> Now, you cite the RAND and HRW reports which have already been examined, dissected, and proven as disinformation by countless reports and experts

Please give it a rest. Mark Thiessen was chief speech writer to Bush, and an expert liar. He falsely argued that water boarding is not torture – even though the US executed Japanese servicemen who used it. As Andrew Sullivan pointed out, “you cannot both argue that the pain and suffering was severe enough to force captives to have no choice but to confess and also argue that it wasn't torture. This is what you call a self-refutation.”

In his book "Courting Disaster", he claimed that Abu Zubaydah gave critical information under water torture, but Zubaydah's testimony proved to be completely false. As late as Fen 2010, he also falsely claimed that Hose Padila was recruited by KSNM to blow up apartheid buildings in the US when the CIA had confirmed there was no truth to the allegation.

As for the EU Parliament Mission Report, it's futile. The MEK admitted to beign a terrosit group when it declared an end to terrorist tactics in 2001, which means it was a terrorist group at least until that year.

    >> The death of Americans was not at the had of the MEK but a splinter faction that attempted to take over the organization and turn it a Marxist organization after the Shah arrested and executed almost the whole leadership and top cadres.

What's funny is that MEK apologists also accuse the Mullahs of arresting and executing almost the whole leadership and top cadres.

    So which one was it?

  65. >> Go to http://www.iranian.com and read NIAC's internal memos and then you will not be that confused.

The headline reads "Former U.S. officials make millions advocating for terrorist organization

Thanks but I already knew that.

    >> It was recently revealed that Trita was paid by Iran and stashed it in his Sweden account to avoid detection and paying taxes.

Americans hide money all the time to avoid paying taxes. Parsi clearly didn't do anything illegal or the IRS would be all over him. Of course, there is no evidence that he received money from Iran. Notone of your MEK propagandists has even tried to prove it.

  66. >> Additionally, the FBI's director for nearly over a decade Louis Freeh himself has stated that the allegations against the MEK are unfounded

Yes, there he is giving a speech to the MEK. How much was he paid for that speech? Freeh tells a whole series fo whoppers during that speech. He blames Hezbollah for the Kobar Towers bombing, when the bombign was perpetrated by AQ.

The 911 Commission report cited Al Qaeda. US response to the attck was not to go after Iran, but to withdraw it's forces from Saudi Arabia.

He then lies about Iran supplying IED's to Iraq, when it was proven that the IED's (which are very simple to make) were made in Iraq. In fact, he doesn't even try to suggest that Iran supplied them, only that it "controlled the use"of IED's in Iraq – pathetic.

    >> He also has stated that his bureau was never consulted before the MEK was listed

As we saw in the lead up to 911, the FBI is not regaded as being very effective in combatting terrror. According to the FBI, Bin Laden had nothing to do with 911, so that argument is hardly compelling.

  67. >> This organization has given 120 000 deaths, it is the main opposition of Iran.

False. It is not even in Iran and the main opposition in Iran in the Green movement, who also regard the MEK as terrorists and traitors.

That's right, Iranians hate the MEK.

  68. >> Courting Disaster:

Written by a liar who still maintains that Jose Padilla was given instruction by KSM to set of bombsm when the US government admitted long ago the charges were made up.

    >> EU Parliament Mission Report "The People's Mojahedin of Iran"

Which doesn't even attampt to addess the executions and murders perpetrated by the MEK, not to mention the bombings in Iran it is carrying out.

    >> Iran Foreign Policy Challenges and Choices

A document that advocates regime change and cites teh MEK as a possilble candidate to take over the leadership of Iran – the same diosaterous plan that they tried to implement in Iraq.

Hoshyar Zebari never wrote an affidavit to any court.

    Try harder.

  69. >> Wow these guys are on the IR payroll

IF they were on the IR payroll then your comments wouldn't even appear.

    Now tell us who's desperate.

  70. >> The information gathered from Parsi's own office and Parsi's own deposition under oath prove his relationship with the IRI and illegal distribution of finances from the NED.

False. If there had been any impropriety, Parsi would have been persued by the justice department. As for . Parsi's behavior in Plano, the only reference to it is on an obscure blog by an MEK sympathizer.

You really shold change your blog to the dissinformation Project

  71. >> This was posted by The Veni here http://www.scotthortonshow.com/2011/08/06/antiwar….
and I copied and pasted to have a collective response so that all can see our reaction to Amoie antisemitism and hatemongering:

No evicdence or sign of anti Semitism. So who are you Veni1. Are you from AIAPC, Likud, the MEK or the AEI?

  72. >> NIAC and its Useful Idiots http://www.globalpolitician.com/26805-niac-rigg-p….

Written by Dr. Arash Irandoost of the Pro Democracy Movement of Iran, the only blog and source complainign abotu Parsi and Plano Texas.

    Useful idiots of the MEK.

  73. >> You are anti-semite and a hatemonger!

Alas, we have member from AIPAC here too.

  74. The Only terrorists are the Mullahs in Iran, and their accomplices. Now what DOES define accomplices? Well it is easy to distinguish them. Those who aime at the enemy of the Ayatollahs which are under threat of massacre and execution ,are the same as the regime.. Oh not the same, even worst. Since it is simply a matter of betraying Human Rights with open eyes and well established knowledge. It is like you are executing the vicims your self. And by the way .. dont go around later and boost that I have threatened you or anyone!

  75. Lol. You wanna compare a political organization with over 30 years of experience with a 2 year old shattered movement runned by NIAC and other Mullahs? There is no green movement who wants to overthrow the Iranian regime…only false reformists who tries to delude the people….but the people are smarter than that….and btw. MEK supports anybody who stands up against this Regime…..You don't know shit about the underground forces of MEK who reveals the regime's plans…According to the Iranian regime itself…their biggest enemy is not US nor others…It's these "monafeghs" = MEK ….So Shingo my friend….even if you claim that Iranians hate MEK…fact tells you something else….over 100 000 Iranians gathered in Paris in support of MEK and Ashraf this summer and the number increases ever year…. Don't hate the struggle for freedom…hate those who do not know humanity…Long live Freedom and Democracy!!

  76. >> The death of Americans was not at the had of the MEK but a splinter faction that attempted to take over the organization and turn it a Marxist organization after the Shah arrested and executed almost the whole leadership and top cadres.

Rubbish. This is a false story the MEK came up with to try and distance themselves from those murders.

Those terrorist attacks against Americans were carried out by the MEK when there was no communist faction within the MEK, and no split within the terrorist group.

  77. >> MEK has never been a Marxist organization with the exception of the priod that there was a devision in the organizations.

That's incirrect Bijan. The MEK members believed in was a mixture of Islam and Marxism
They rejected the dialectical materialism basis of Marxism because they believed in God (whereas dialectical materialism rejects the notion of God), but accepted Marxist social theories because they believed they were scientific.

Original MKO members were greatly influenced by the work of Dr. Ali Shariati, the sociologist and distinguished Islamic scholar. He, too, rejected Marx, the philosopher, but accepted much of his social thinking.

When one of the members was put on trial, he claimed that Marxism is the theory of revolution and that the MEK was using the phylosphy to overthrow the regime of the Shah.

  78. Soavi,

    You are a pathetic propagandist.

The MEK’s membership are 60 year old cultures who have no appeal  or following in Iran.

How many votes have they ever won in any Iranian election? Sorry, but you don’t have a political movement if you have no political following.

There green movement certainly wants to overthrow the Iranian regime, they just don’t want to do it with violence, like the terrorist cult you belong to.

Yes, people are smarter than that. They know violence plays right into the hands-off the hard liners. After all, the terrorist MEK has been trying for 30 years and has Irving to show for it, other than a list of murdered Iranians and Americans.

The MEK might support those who stands up against this Regime and so do jihadist Al Qaeda affiliated groups like Jundula.  They’re the ones carrying out suicide attacks. Nice company you keep Soavi.

The only thing we need to know about the  underground forces of MEK is that they are liars.

The Iranian regime has nothing to fear from the MEK. They are non threat to Iran’s leadership.

Oh, and the reason  100 000 Iranians gathered in Paris in support of MEK, is because that is where all their membership resides. Of course,    a large number  were a rent-a-crowd, bought and paid to turn up and inflate numbers.

The MEK has nothing to do with the  struggle for freedom and democracy.   The MEK wants power and to replace the  Mullahs with their own brand if leadership.

If the deranged cult leaders can order their followers not to marry and set themselves on fire, you can imagine what these sick nut jobs  would do if they ever obtained power.

  79. That's quote a compliment, comming from an expert in lying Amir.

  80. >> Saying MEK has no support is pure rubbish! This organization has given 120 000 deaths

For a country the size of Iran, that's insignificant. The MEK has no support in Iraq. All it's supporters are outside Iran. It is not the main opposition of Iran – not even close. If there were an election, they'd get no votes. It's hard to run an election campaign when you're known as a terrorist and a traitor.

    >> .NOTHING justifies MEK being on the FTO list

Murders, targetted assassinations and suicide bombings do.

  81. >> The Only terrorists are the Mullahs in Iran, and their accomplices

So I take it you'r a fan of Al Qaeda.

The MEK are not under any threat of threat of massacre and execution. After all, there are practically none of you MEK left in Iran. You were kicked out by the Shah.

As for human rights, how do suicide bombings and setting people on fire aid further than cause?

  82. After reading the comments here this thread should be the poster boy on why the US needs to stay the hell out of the Middle East. What a hopeless, fucking mess.
