David Bromwich, professor of literature at Yale University, discusses his article “Obama’s Drift Toward War With Iran;” the propaganda portraying Iran as an imminent threat to Israel and the US; Obama’s evolving Iran policy, from campaign promises of diplomacy to a doomed-to-fail “Single Roll of the Dice;” interventionist fantasies including non-invasion regime change and a Six-Day War repeat, where Iran’s nuclear program is bombed and set back years with no blowback; Dennis Ross’s surprising “Iran is Ready to Talk” op-ed in the NY Times; and why the momentum of pre-election warmongering in the US and Israel is hard to slow down.

  3. The Nobel Peace Prize Committee should announce that if Obama doesn´t say publically that the US won´t attack Iran and won´t support an Israeli attack, they will recall the prize he falsely received.

  5. The only promise that Obama kept is that he will continue to spend regardless of the budget deficit.

  6. DARKNESS
    GREATBRITAIN
“I will give you ONE example of a war of aggression
in the 1980′s which involved my own country.
The Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands.”

    Falkland Islands
There are 2 main islands and 776 smaller ones. There are 3,060 people living there and 583,000 sheep.

    LIGHT
First the Army of Spain colonized the Falkland Islands, then France, then finally in 1833 they were colonized by the British Navy.

Today you could say that the islands are owned by a British corporation called the Falkland Island Company. As they own half the land, have a monopoly on all imports and exports and employ most of the people.

So, its a war between the sovereign nation of Argentine and a multinational corporation. And so, who is the aggressor?

Western world — Land belongs to no one until a European discovers it

    DARKNESS
    GREATBRITAIN
“WRONG. The Falklands were first sighted by Europeans in
the 17th century…Dutch, then English… To avoid a war between
Spain and England the Spanish returned the Islands to England.”

    LIGHT
Well then, according to the above logic, why does Britain claim just the Falkland Islands? Why not claim ownership of all the sovereign nation of Argentine?

  7. Every man in this world who could come up with an essay about peace and a falsified democracy can wine a Nobel price, there is two source of giving such price, one is Sweden and the other is Norway. Both countries are member of what is called Scandinavian countries, both countries up to Balkan War were peaceful loving country then it happened, Sweden and its Social Democracy become the most aggressive government regarding the Socialism in Yugoslavia and the cleansing of the Muslims people in Kosovo, which was a lie by US government BIll Clinton and Madeline Albright, Richard Holbrook and others. Sweden and Norway participated in bombarding the Libyan people.

In time and in regard to Afghanistan and Al Queada and other terrorists groups Obama needed to convince the world that even these terrorist groups are part of democracy and can be used against or for US agendas when and where they needed, what would you think that he is trying to do, negotiate with Taliban in one hand and giving Libya to other terrorism and using them in Syria for implementing “Democracy”. Such man not only needs to receive the price but needs to be a honoree member of Noble Price library without paying when a book of “democracy" is borrowed by him or his staff.

  8. Geoge Bush says alqaeda are enemies of the US and now Obama trying to negotiate with them in Qatar: is he now fooling the US citizen that their taxes had been spent for over ten years fighting an ally?

  9. @15:29 "Not a single Republican candidate….." Surprised you let him get away with that one Scott.
I am used to Ron Paul being completely overlooked in the MSM, but not on AW.

  10. @James
Maybe he has wised-up! How about you?
When most were butt-kissin O’what’s-his-name some spoke about the absordity of ‘the show’. Now you watch the rerun of the same ‘old show’ in a new production, courtesy of puppet-masters.

  11. It's ironic that a man nominated for the Nobel Peace prize (Bradley Manning) is being jailed by a winner of that prize! What a joke!

  12. Obama has made a serious mistake in not firing Hillary Clinton and having a thorough housecleaning at State. Dennis Ross was the Uber Zionist who constantly sabotaged any meaningful negotiations with Iran, so anything he says from his present post at WINEP is suspicious. Obama has believed if he plays along with the Israel constant saber rattling while sending the US Generals to plead with them not to attack Iran, that the Republicans won't attack him for being mean to the Israelis. As the price of oil has risen because of the constant Kabuki Theater from the Likkudniks, the Republicans are already starting to attack Obama for not doing anything to reduce the price of gas. If he would have had the spine to call out the Zionist zealots in Congress who have dual citizenship with Israel and spoken up as loudly as Mier Dagan, the former head of the Masaad, all the saber rattling would stop.
