Will Grigg

Will Grigg, blogger and author of Liberty in Eclipse, discusses his article “The Resistance Rises: Restoring the ‘Castle Doctrine;'” why the passage of Indiana’s Senate Bill 1, restoring the right to defend your own home, won’t mean it’s “open season on law enforcement;” how the War on Drugs hastened the demise of both the castle doctrine and Fourth Amendment; how infamous former LAPD chief Daryl Gates helped militarize police forces, pioneering SWAT and DARE; and why, if you legally must submit to a costume-wearing government official acting unlawfully, you don’t have any rights at all.

MP3 here. (29:54)

Will Grigg writes the blog Pro Libertate and is the author of Liberty in Eclipse.

    1. I love Scott Horton, but he sometimes has a tendency to talk more than he allows his guests to talk. Zooey does a great job of asking the questions then shutting up and letting the guests answer.

    2. That Zooey Gripes is a star, a star I tells ya!

Scott is the master but Zooey is a great compliment. They are the dynamic duo.

And Will Grigg…dang I could listen to him all day.

  1. PROBLEM
Law enforcement is all of the educated middle-class, they spend 95% of their time policing uneducated laboring men, with the result being that American jail and prisons house over 25% of all the prisoners on earth.

    ROOT CAUSE
The educated upper half of society enslaving the uneducated lower half by a starvation minimum wage.

    SOLUTION
Rise the minimum wage to $20 an hour.

    LOGIC
We are all born with a different ability to earn income, as a test, to see if we pass our excessive wealth down to where it belongs.

        1. LOL what? I asked a simple question. Where do you get the $20 number? Explain why it shouldn't be $100. Show us YOUR logic John. So anyone who disagrees with you is stupid and belligerent huh?

Maybe you are the one who hasn't thought through the logic of your position. If the grocery store down the street is forced to pay cashiers $20 per hour for their labor, what do you think will happen to the cost of the items YOU want to purchase from that store? Do you think that you can just have some decree that raises the minimum cost of labor and the prices of everything will just stay the same? When the prices rise, all the "gains" from the artificial rise in the cost of labor will be wiped out. Or do you advocate price controls for goods and services to go along with the control you are proposing for the cost of labor?

Plus, if my teenage son is willing to take a job for say $5 per hour, which is more that what he makes now, being $0, why should you use government backed violence to prevent him from doing that?

      1. And heck, while yer at it just have everyone work for the gummit. Solve all the unemployment over night. See how simple it is? We can be a country of $1000 an hour gummit workers with million dollar pensions…cool! 🙂

    1. So, what is a fair wage to pay the laboring-class for manual labor?

Having grown up in the slums during World War Two and the Korean War, and though minimum wage was a $1 an hour, mom was a waitress who labored for $.75 an hour plus tips. And though on days when her tips were poor we had no hamburger in our spaghetti and tomatoes, not once did mom go on welfare or ask for food stamps.

Surely everyone knows what is a fair wage to pay, surely those who argue the point generate confusion that fools no one.

  2. In ‘highly unusual’ move, Marines asked to disarm before Leon Panetta speech http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/14/10684063-in-highly-unusu

Now if you were of the impoverished lower half of American society, you would say that above action was done to give the Secret Service a better ability to protect our Secretary of Defense.

Whereas, if you were of the voting majority, the 51% most war-hawk and wealthy, you would brag that such an action showed how zealous and over-eager the troops were to protect our good and godly military commanders.

  4. Socialism — Dictatorship by and for the educated Middle-class

In Scandinavian countries, the educated Middle-class is 70% of the population, as the uneducated laboring class is only 20% of the population and the 10% most wealthy are High Society. So, socialism gives the 70% educated Middle-class absolute control of all government.

But, Empire USA has always had a labor intense economy requiring a 50% uneducated laboring-class humble enough to work for a very competitive and near starvation minimum wage.

So, what would happen if Ron Paul campaigned on the platform of raising minimum wage to $20 an hour? Well, who were the 50% of voters who refused to go to the polls during Obama’s election.

And so, if Ron Paul received all of the 50% laboring-class vote, would he not beat any Democrat, Republican or Independent?

  5. Only people with property have rights — So only property has rights

And if your void of wealth, then your a vagrant and don’t even have the right to freedom

For the right to eat in America, a forth of our children are severely limited in that respect as they suffer malnutrition. And worldwide a billion humans have zero food security, not knowing if the last meal was their last.

And as it takes money to make money, unless you can borrow a customers lawnmower and gas to cut his grass, only if we have the property needed to be free is free enterprise for you or me.

My, how void of a conscience are we humans who function as if stuck in reverse is our conscience — how bankrupt of true morality we who enrich ourselves upon the misery of those without property — we who so love our fake morality.

  6. @marllboro
dude, its all in the assumptions and axioms.
if you assume A is then you can rationally reason till Z.
so first find out what those mighty economist had as their axioms, and if they are based on belief or fact. if you do that you may have chance in seeing through the matrix.
my take? problem is the wage work in the first place, therfore neither commies nor cappies are right.
neither synarchists nor anarchist have the solution cause the both work in the same fremwork and axioms, just on the oppsite pole.
and since in the real world everything is circular those guys are not far from each other one way and farthest. snake eating its tale ring any bell???

  7. I agree. Will Grigg is brilliant, he provides a treasure trove of information on the subject of restoring freedom, and there are none better on the subject of liberty. Is Will a lawyer by trade? If he isn't, he should be…………….He would definitely give Eric "kill 'em all" Holder a run for his money!

  8. As a christian i am so thankful for Will Grigg. He shows that we are not all war-mongers and that with Christ comes true Liberty
