Ron Paul is a Republican United States Congressman from Lake Jackson, Texas, a physician, a bestselling author, and a 2008 U.S. presidential candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. Ron Paul was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in a 1976 special election. He won his first full term to the U.S. House in 1978.
