At least 154 Iraqis
were killed or found dead and 70 more were wounded in the latest attacks,
which included killing over two dozen villagers in Duwailiya. Also, a Marine
died in a non-combat incident in Anbar province, and the DOD reported
that an American
soldier was killed in an RPG attack in Mosul on Monday.
In Baghdad,
24 unidentified bodies
were recovered. A suicide
car bomber killed at least 20 people and wounded 20 more in the Zayouna
district. And IED in Zayouna killed
a civilian and injured two more. Four
Iraqis were killed and five were wounded during a car bombing near the Iranian
embassy. At a Mansour area petrol station, three
people were killed and five were wounded in a drive-by shooting; also, the
bodies
of two police officers were found. An IED in the Rusafa neighborhood
wounded three policemen.
A civilian was injured
during an IED explosion in Bayaa. Mortars in Nahrawan injured
three civilians. Last night a bomb in Adhamiya killed
one person and injured two others.
Also, U.S. forces killed
12 suspects in in Fadhil, while Iraqi soldiers killed
20 more elsewhere. Three
Iraqi soldiers were killed and nine more were wounded during security operations.
Last night in Khamaliya, U.S. helicopters killed
a civilian and wounded five others, including women and children.
Gunmen killed 29
villagers, including men, women and children, in Duwailiya. Four
were wounded.
Five
bodies were pulled from the Tigris River in Suwayra.
In Yusufiya,
a bomb killed
a policeman and wounded four others.
Near Samarra, gunmen killed
the director and wounded three other employees of the Dhuluiya hospital.
An Iraqi judge
was killed at a fake checkpoint near Balad.
In Jurf al-Sakhir,
five people were
killed during clashes involving suspected al-Qaeda elements and former Saddam
loyalists.
In Kirkuk, 28 suspects were arrested.
Gunmen killed
three policemen in Fallujah.
In Basra, a civilian
was killed during clashes between gunmen and British troops.
A suicide
bomber at an Iraqi army checkpoint near Mosul left one
soldier and eight civilians dead and at
least four others wounded.
Near al-Wahda, gunmen set a truck
on fire and killed
its driver.
Southeast of the capital U.S. helicopters killed
five gunmen who were planting a bomb.
