At least 64 Iraqis
were killed and 40 more were wounded during the latest round of attacks. Also,
three American servicemembers were killed in separate incidents pushing
the number of
Coalition military deaths to 4,000.
Two
MND-B soldiers were killed and six wounded in combat north of Baghdad
yesterday. An MNC-I
soldier died of non-combat related causes today in Baghdad. Also, two
U.S. servicemembers were wounded when gunmen began shooting from inside
a mosque in Tarmiyah; U.S. forces then shot an air-to-ground missile into the
mosque.
U.S. forces killed
13 suspects and detained 16 more during raids in several locations. During
the last week, U.S. forces also killed
six al-Qaeda suspects and detained 26 more in Balad alone. Joint Iraqi-U.S.
forces killed
eight gunmen in Khalis and arrested two in Baquba.
In
Baghdad, 19
bodies were found scattered in several neighborhoods. Ten
people were killed and 20 others were wounded when a car bomb was detonated
near al-Russafi Square. Five
civilians were wounded during a roadside bomb attack that targeted a U.S.
patrol in Zayouna; a policewoman was kidnapped in a separate incident.
Near al-Zewraa Park in Mansour, a roadside bomb wounded
three people. A police
commando was killed and another one was injured in the Doura neighborhood.
Two Iraqis were injured
during an IED in Salhiyah. Also, a journalist
working for al-Noor newspaper was shot and wounded on Palestine Street.
A senior
policeman and his bodyguard were wounded during a roadside bombing Kirkuk.
Four
policemen were wounded in a separate roadside bombing.
A drive-by shooting
in Diwaniya left Sheikh
Nadhim al-Bdairi dead; he was a Fadhila party official.
Three
policemen were injured during a mortar attack in Ameriya.
No
casualties were reported as British targets came under light arms and RPG
attacks in Basra. British installations come under fire almost every day.
Kurdish Peshmerga fighters were sent
to Sinjar to restore security in the area two days after it suffered the
largest coordinated bombing attack since the invasion of Iraq.
Near Hibhib,
ten Iraqis were kidnapped
at a fake checkpoint.
At least one
child was killed in a roadside bombing in Baquba.

near Khalis, five
people were killed.
