At least 33 Iraqis
were killed or found dead and another 28 were wounded in the latest round
of attacks, which included bombings in Kirkuk and Khalis. Also, two GIs were
killed and three were wounded in separate events. Three Britons were also
wounded.
An IED killed
one MND-B soldier and wounded three more today in southern Baghdad. Also,
three
British soldiers and an Iraqi employee were wounded during an overnight rocket
attack on their base in Basra. And, the DOD announced the death
of a GI during an IED attack on Thursday in Baiji.
In Baghdad,
five dumped bodies
were recovered separately. In al-Washash, two
people were injured when a clash broke out between Iraqi army soldiers and
Mahdi militia members. Also, the Baghdad governor escaped
an attack unharmed in the Sadiyah neighborhood.
In Kirkuk, a roadside
bomb killed two
people in a central neighborhood. In a northern area, another
bomb wounded
a policeman. In al-Musalla, a car bomb killed
a civilian and wounded eleven others.
Two bombs blew-up an hour apart
in Khalis. Seven
people were wounded.
Shelling killed
a civilian and wounded four more in Salman Bek.
In Riyadh,
a roadside bomb killed
two policemen and wounded a civilian.
The body
of a child who was shot to death was found in Mussayab. Also, the body
of a beheaded college student was discovered.
In Hawija, gunmen
killed
a police lieutenant and wounded a civilian in the Seda village area.
A beheaded
body bearing evidence of torture was found in Iskandariya. The body
belonged to a member of a Sunni Arab tribe known for working with U.S. forces.
Gunmen in Mahaweel killed
a police commando.
The body
of a Jarf al-Sakhr Awakening Council member was found near Hilla.
Gunmen
killed a policeman
in Yayji village, west of Kirkuk.
In Samarra, security forces
killed
another eight suspects and arrested 37 more. Also, 27 kidnapped truckers were
freed.
U.S. forces killed
six suspects and arrested 18 during operations against Sunni militia in northern
and central Iraq. A militia leader was arrested
in Khalis, and two more were detained
in Balad Ruz. Iraqi forces arrested
11 in Karbala. An al-Qaeda
leader was killed in Baghdad; six
others were arrested in separate raids.
Sixty suspects were freed
in Ninewah when charges against them were dropped.
Also, no
casualties were reported when Turkish forces shelled Deshta Takh.
