REPUBLICAN DOLE-DRUMS

Senator Robert Dole now has enough delegates to assure his nomination for President at the Republican Convention in August. This is good news for President Clinton, but bad news for American taxpayers.

In more than 30 years in Congress, Robert Dole has voted 16 times to raise taxes. In 1982, as Senate Finance Committee Chair, he promoted his own tax hike. In 1990, as Senate Republican Leader Dole helped pass the Bush Tax Hike.

In 1995, Senate Leader Dole worked with President Clinton and Speaker Gingrich to send 40 billion dollars of taxpayers money to the government of Mexico. More recently, Senator Dole has backed President Clinton in sending American troops to Bosnia in another U.N. sponsored intervention.

The Senate Republican Leader has consistently backed foreign aid. He has voted to keep foreign governments "On the Dole" even in the face of continuing high deficits and tax hikes.

Harry Browne and the Libertarian Party call for an end to the federal role in welfare, education and law enforcement.

Harry Browne stands for privatization and deregulation. Harry Browne calls for bringing American troops home from Europe, Japan and the Middle East.

A poll commissioned by the Republican Senate Campaign Committee suggests that 40% of Republican voters will refuse to back Senator Dole because they oppose his stand on social issues. Harry Browne offers a choice for pro-choice Republicans and others concerned with social tolerance.
