Bill Clinton’s memoir hit the shelves this week, pompously titled “My Life.” The philanderer-in-chief also went on CBS’ “60 Minutes” to hype the book defending his emperorship.
According to agency reports, Clinton confessed he messed around with Monica Lewinsky “for the worst possible reason. Just because I could.”
Well, that explains a lot – and not just about his sexcapades.
Contrite as he is (how sincerely?) about his peccadillo with Monica, Emperor Willy rejoices in being a war criminal. See, he “takes pride in assembling the coalition that stopped former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic’s crackdown on independence-minded ethnic Albanians,” quotes the Associated Press:
“The day that Kosovar war ended and I knew Milosevic’s days were numbered was a great day. I had a lot of great days,” he says.
Here it is, historians and jurists: an admission of guilt for instigating a war that was clearly in violation of international law and the Nuremberg principles. He feels no remorse for heading a war of aggression, he’s proud of it. And he did it just because he could.
Emperors, both current and former, may seem out of reach of human justice at this time, but will not remain so forever…
