The documentary War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us To Death (based on Norman Solomon’s book of the same title) is now playing at movie theatres and other independent venues throughout the United States. The movie, narrated by actor Sean Penn, uses stunning archival video to expose a 50-year pattern of White House deception and media propaganda that has dragged our country into one military intervention after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Rare footage also spotlights heroes who have resisted the war barrage: people like Sen. Wayne Morse, Rep. Barbara Lee and Phil Donahue. Reviewers have called it “Superb” (Howard Zinn), “Chilling and persuasive” (The Nation) and “Damning” (Variety).
Your seeing War Made Easy now and spreading the word, particularly if you buy a ticket to a theatre, could help it gain wider release. See where the nearest showing to you is now.
I definitely plan to be in Greencastle, Indiana on October 2, to watch this proclaimed documentary with like-minded Hoosiers and friends, this being the birthday of one of my conflicted- about-war, how-can-I-hate-you-PinkCode4Peace-sister, relatives. So glad my favorite site is advertising this historic viewings throughout the country. I so look forward to the discussions afterward.
Well, I wasn’t really thinking about it, so I went to Hawksbury to buy some liquor.
If this can get an audience in the cultural-mecca that is Greencastle, that will be saying something.
This is a fantastic movie. It ranks alongside Sir, No Sir! as one of the best anti-war films I’ve ever seen. A real ‘must see’.
The film’s website has a order form for the dvd. Does anyone know if this is a pre-order or is it available now on dvd?
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Read war made easy this film, the Americans themselves feel really good pathetic, film director I admire very much, with a sharp vision to look at war, not fanatical sought after, the world disharmony, the general public is too easily fooled, Cheated, when the deception becomes a reasonable time, people will lose their senses and lose the ability to distinguish right from wrong and thus may themselves become accomplices to the lies and drummer.
The human too stupid………. We also too poor a human….
