President-elect Donald Trump has said he wants to shrink and reform the CIA and much of the US intelligence community, which he has claimed has become very politicized. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) recently warned Trump about crossing the CIA, stating that, “You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.” Will Trump try to really take on the destructive policies and actions of the CIA, or will he focus on re-arranging the deck chairs and putting his own people in positions of power? Our take in today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:
Reprinted from The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity.
Considering that decades of CIA operations abroad led to the cumulative deaths of millions of people, is there really any difference between its actions and those of Hitler? But most Americans today seem to be blind to the crimes committed in their name and funded with their tax dollars. Ignorance, stupidity, apathy and arrogance shall lead to the demise of our once great nation.
The difference is that a country’s intelligence agencies don’t lead. They do the bidding of the country’s leadership. But there’s little doubt the program has been set in stone.
Russia is seen to be the enemy and trying to understand why that has to be is the big question. It’s a question the American people avoid.
luv from Canada.
If you’ve followed Ron for any length of time, then you know his viewpoint that our Presidents are _managed_ by the powers that be. Ron points to the banksters, and FDR is on record telling newsman Edward R Murrow much the same thing, 75 years ago. Close ties exist between the intelligence agencies and the financial sector, just look at the Goldman Sachs execs. Also between both and the MSM–see the membership of the CFR.
“Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) recently warned Trump about crossing the CIA,
stating that, “You take on the intelligence community — they have six
ways from Sunday at getting back at you.” ”
This statement alone confirms what Ron Paul is saying- any government agency that would “get back at a President” for certain policies it doesn’t agree with should be dressed down like ANYONE who would threaten the President or ANY leader! Schumer and ALL legislators in Congress need to seriously examine an agency that even Harry Truman himself, right after the CIA was formed, said he regretted the National Security Law that brought it into being! It is unaccountable for the most part and has become nothing more than a tool for the powerful and wealthy!
Yes Tom, you’re right on! But that didn’t address my comment on Rand Paul losing his balls.
So he’s only another cheap politician who can be bought, but that’s not really the point. If Rand Paul can’t stand tall and correct Matthews on such a outright lie then where is the hope? All that was required from Rand Paul’s mouth was that it wasn’t just Cheney who lied your country into the Iraq war. That wouldn’t even have been dangerous for him to say.
luv from Canada.
There’s no evidence that the CIA precipitated the war against Iraq. It was clearly the pet project of Dick Cheney and the neocons.
That would be consistent with the mindset of most Americans, nearly 15 years later. So sad! Because nothing has changed and the same tactics can be used again, and again, and again.
Syria and Iran are slamdunks for Trump’s admin, even at the expense of going toe to toe with Russia.
Unless he’s managed and treated like a figurehead. Which is likely to be the case because they must recognize by now that only his vanity is important to him.
CIA lifeblood is called plausible deniability. When you control the intelligence you’re certainly not going to implicate yourself on said intelligence! Don’t kid yourself- the CIA is in everything. They plant the seeds of war so that the military/industrial elite can harvest their bloody profits!
Let’s hope he grows a new set!
