President Trump said his gut tells him to get out of Afghanistan, but after giving it some more thought – with the help of his generals – he’s decided to expand US military actions rather than to wind the war down. Were the conclusions leading him to make this decision based on solid analysis and fact? Not at all! The only thing really “new” about this new strategy is that it is now official policy to never tell what US objectives are in the country! Our take on the President’s speech in today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

I wish this rational man and pro-life, pro-peace doctor were our president.
Don’t forget pro freedom, can there be any worse slavery than forcing females to carry to term & nurture for life, a child which she does not want…. Luckily its becoming harder & harder to do…!!!!! With every passing day…
Yes, there can be a worse slavery, the slavery of knowing you killed your very own baby growing inside you. And, growing a baby can be a beautiful thing and not slavery if you are supported and loved. And, you can put the baby up for adoption if you do not want it. The baby is the human being who has a right to the freedom of being born and not killed. Killing a growing human being is not a good thing.
It’s in the military’s best interests to “protect the empire” by waging foreign wars. That drives the cash and promotions system.
It just so happens that Trump’s perspective has changed, he’s war-President and a CinC now: he wasn’t when he had all the clarity. He also doesn’t want to be a loser – or at least the first war President and CinC to ‘lose’ a war.
War is good for America. Even an economic melt-down might not stop its wars. So kicking that one down the road isn’t going to hurt much, except Afghans.
