This is all part of the Great Liberal Purge whereby they ‘win elections’ using Stalinist methods.
Sad that Peter Van Buren is lying about what he wrote, as he knows the
exact words precisely: “I hope a MAGA guy eats your face“. He even
blogged about it (link omitted as it calls in the reviewers, but its both on his blog and this site, search for “My bad zombie joke about #MAGA”).
Approved it as soon as I saw it. Disqus doesn’t ALWAYS interpret non-spam links as spam, but does sometimes.
No offense to you intended :) – I know (having done it) being moderator is a tedious, generally unappreciated job. But I hadn’t had one queued before on Antiwar.com and some sites never really review and release posts with links.
Thanks for keeping spammers off the site!
No offense taken. I just wanted to make sure you knew that the linked version did get posted once a human saw that it wasn’t spam.
So there’s the technical aspect of this kerfuffle, one of applying pure logic: Peter said “A” which violates “B”; “B” violations necessitate “C”, therefore “C” (a very rough and inaccurate attempt at remembering my prepositional logic class). Make no mistake, I’m a huge fan of this process – there’s little ambiguity. However, in the world of political games, context and reason is necessary. For real, anyone who has listened to Peter Van Buren’s interviews over the years would be hard-pressed to believe he’s violent. Katz is being wholly disingenuous and using Twitter’s policies as a weapon to shut down discourse. It’s despicable and pathetic.
And I’m no fan girl, although I really do enjoy Peter’s interviews. He has a dry wit that always catches me by surprise. My defense here is only about how pernicious are Katz’ tactics. This practice does nothing but ensure one day he’ll be in Peter’s seat. Everyone needs a thicker skin.
