At dawn, US-backed and self-proclaimed president of Venezuela, Juan Guaido, announced the “final phase” of his coup against the Maduro government. While defections from the military are minor at this point, it is unknown whether the coup will reach critical mass. In the US, both Republicans and Democrats – who not long ago were furious over claims that the Russians have interfered in our elections – are cheering this US interference in Venezuelan elections. US neocons have joined the battle from the safety of their keyboards. Tune in to today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

Dr. Paul mentions “our empire.”
Who exactly is us?
I would say it is not the US.
The real empire is the global financial empire.
This is the New World Order that GHW Bush hinted at.
Doesn’t Dr. Paul realize that the Neocons are really a manifestation of movement conservatives?
Perhaps he does.
He should acknowledge that what we are witnessing is Capitalism gone amok.
What is vaguely conservative about our crazy policy of making trouble for Venezuela. About lying to delegitimize their president.
There is nothing conservative about the neocon policies.
That is my point.
That is why I called them “movement conservatives.”
These are neocons/neoliberals.
These are people that want to force open countries (the neocons) to accept market-fundamentalist economics (neoliberal).
If they refuse to capitulate, we force them with economic blackmail if possible, or fomening coups with our “color” revolutions.
If they still stubbornly want to cling to their own sovereignty, then we will invade them on some false pretense.
Our terms in the US are very confusing.
Perhaps that is why our thinking is so confused.
It would be amusing if the US were not so powerful and using its power to destabilize the entire world and destroy the future of its own people.
