  1. When Bill Clinton was in big trouble during the middle of impeachment he fired off nearly one hundred missiles into Afghanistan, I think as a warning to those who were impeaching him. Trump is in plenty of political hot water himself and he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would stop at anything to save his image of himself. A little war, no problem. Those missiles Clinton fired might have caused a revenge attack on 9/11.

  2. A pinprick attack but no regime change? That makes no sense because it will ultimately only strengthen the current regime.
    More extensive bombing? Ditto.
A real attack without regime change? That will require an open-ended occupation of Iran.
A real attack with regime change? For that it is absolutely necessary to have a new regime on hand to avoid the mess of regime “construction” as has happened in Iraq. I do not see a replacement regime for Iran ready to take over. A descendant of the Shah? Forget it.
Furthermore, is a real attack going to be a naval landing or an attack out of Iraq or Afghanistan or both? Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan appears to be a stable base for the Iran war.
These are all horrible choices. Only a madman (or woman) can even consider them.
