Glen is a little disingenuous here. Prosecution of Assange did not move forward during the Obama administration. It was the Trump administration that moved forward, seeking extradition.
They didn’t have the ability to move forward with it until there was a new President of Ecuador who was easily bribed / initimidated. Don’t think it was reluctance on the part of the Obama administration. Everything that happened from the trumped up charges in Sweden onwards was under Obama’s watch. That being said, Obama did “evolve” enough to pardon Manning towards the end of his second term and may have thought Assange was not worth pursuing anymore.
