Today is day 159 in the Russo Ukraine war. It’s also day 159 that the US has funneled tens of billion s of weaponry into the war zone instead of pushing negotiations to end the war quickly.
Having provoked the war for 14 years since proposing NATO membership for Ukraine in 2008, the US has learned nothing from its perfidy, doubling down on its long mission to weaken and isolate Russia after breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991.
The result? Thousands of needless Ukrainian deaths simply to prolong the US proxy war that should never have been fought and could have quickly been ended.
But not satisfied with the human carnage, the US is now sending longer range artillery and rocket systems which can reach Russian territory. While Kiev has supposedly assured Washington they won’t use the new hardware to strike Russia, they have also said they would consider using them on Crimea which has been Russian for the past 8 years.
Just the thought of such strikes prompted Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov to announce "The longer the range of weapons you supply, the farther away the line from where Ukraine could threaten the Russian Federation will be pushed."
Ukraine foolishly lost the Crimea to Russia in 2014 when they instigated civil war on the Russian speaking people in the Donbas, threatening Russia’s Sebastopol Naval Base in Crimea. They’ve essentially lost the Donbas in the current war when they reneged on their promise to grant it regional autonomy under the 2015 Minsk II Accords.
But accepting long range US weapons instead of negotiations will cost Ukraine more than the thousands needlessly dying in an unwinnable conflict. It will cost them thousands of additional square miles of territory for no other reason than to maintain their fantasy of victory and the US fantasy of winning the proxy war against Russia.
Even worse? Long range US weapons increase the prospect of US Russian nuclear confrontation.

In America today, 1 in 6 kids are in families below the poverty line. The [official] poverty rate is 14.4% as of February 2022. The child poverty rate in January 2022 was 17%.

Ukraine has become the New Israel. It will receive endless, needless US & EU Aid for an eternity or until more sensible people are elected.
Biden can’t handle the economy so he should get out of the White House and go back to his old house.
Nothing Biden, Trump, Obama etc did to alleviate poverty in the US. I watched The National Bird on Netflix, it was about a man that did not approve of war but joined the military so he would no longer have to live on the streets.

While the nation allows itself to be distracted by yet more bread-and-circus politics, the American kakistocracy (a government run by unprincipled career politicians and corporate thieves that panders to the worst vices in our nature and has little regard for the rights of the people) continues to suck the American people into a parallel universe in which the Constitution is meaningless, the government is all-powerful, and the citizenry are powerless to defend themselves against government agents who steal, spy, lie, plunder, kill, abuse and generally inflict mayhem and sow madness on everyone and everything in their sphere.

Zelensky is an out of control egomaniac. He will happily see his country destroyed as long as it means he can continue to travel around the globe with his wife, appearing as a “celebrity guest” at prestigious venues, who will be given a “luxurious life in a safe haven” someplace after Ukraine collapses. Because the alternative is he makes peace, and goes back to being the puppet president of a failed state. That it’s all costing Ukraine thousands of lives is beside the point. VIOX had a story on his “Vogue” fashion shoot, totally destroying him.
A classic case of leaders not actually in the trenches doing the fighting. Zelensky is glowing in what he believes is his moment on the big stage.
But the weapons manufacturers are poor and need the work, right?
I think in fact it ensures they will get more territory back. The Russians are free to leave at any time.

This is going to be an interesting variation on General Winter. The Russians will be bundled up and still missile rich, the Ukrainians will be even worse off plus freezing, and the NATOstans will be burning their furniture. If I were Putin I’d let negotiations slide.

Kiev economics school assessment is funded by USAID. The Kyiv School of Economics has released a new assessment claiming that Ukraine will need hundreds of billions of dollars to “Build Back Better” from its war against Russia.

Biden wants tax payer money to “Build Back Better” in Ukraine. He wants the world to give Ukraine never ending military and economic aid like he wants the world to give to Israel. Biden and future POTUS will give that kind of aid to Ukraine as well as Israel. Those 2 nations will receive far more aid than any Developing Nations.
