Poland WWIII Scare Shows Why Top US General Wants Peace (video with Col. Doug Macgregor)

From The Grayzone:

Retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor on the World War III scare in Poland and the reported Pentagon-State Department split over Ukraine-Russia peace.

After accusing Russia of firing missiles into Poland — and triggering calls from Ukraine for direct NATO military intervention — US officials are now acknowledging that Ukrainian air defenses were likely responsible.

Douglas Macgregor, a retired Army Colonel and former senior Pentagon adviser, says the Poland scare underscores why the US top military officer, Gen. Mark Milley, has split from White House bureaucrats to call for diplomacy with Russia in order to end the Ukraine war.

  1. Mark Milley has surprised me. A very welcome and pleasant surprise. I’m sure we don’t see eye to eye on all things foreign policy, but he is the only voice of reason calling for peace and negotiations.

  2. Sorry, no Faith in Miley!

    1. The US calls itself exceptional and overspends on the military and forever wars. It should shut down bases, abroad, dissolve NATO, negotiate with Putin and Zelensky to end the war in Ukraine and end tension with China.

      1. There is nothing exceptional about the U.S.except for the worlds largest prison system ever on the whole planet. Even more than Communist China.

The US regime has the highest admitted per capita incarceration rate in the world.

But some regimes are more opaque than others in terms of what they admit (or just can’t successfully hide). I wouldn’t bet the ranch on the US having a higher per capita incarceration rate than China. We just don’t, and probably can’t, know.

          1. There is allot of propaganda in government schooling. I have been all over this for over a decade, and appreciate your time Knapp.

          2. I’ve been an opponent of the carceral state for 30 years or so, not just “more than a decade.”

As an alternative to noticing that I posted a true statement, you’re trying to teach grandpa to suck eggs.

          1. Thanks for time Down to Earth, you are exactly correct and I know when it was transformed as well.

  3. Only someone who has seen war, up close, in combat, or knows a person who has and is willing to talk about it, understands that detente and not war should be the answer . Milley has his issues, as do many military officers, but on this he is right on.
