3. How many times do we hear that problems in area X were caused by borders being negotiated in distant capitals with no input from the locals? Yet here we propose to do just that again? The Russo-Ukrainian border is for them to sort out, we are helping the Ukrainians negotiate from a position of strength.

   1. You mean, allow the non-Russian speaking Ukrainians to continue shelling Russian-speaking Ukrainians in the Donbas? That is one of the reasons that compelled Russia to invade. The shelling began immediately after the coup in 2014, if not before. The other reason is to send a message to the West (NATO/U.S.) to just stop it.
