Zelensky is prolonging the Ukraine War and if Ukraine gets nukes, it will use them against Russia and start WWIII. The stuff happening now did not happen under Ronald Reagan and so many people protested wars and nuclear weapons but they are giving Biden and Zelensky passes.
They are giving free passes to everybody. It's like there is no international laws anymore, but only vague rules imagined on the spur of the moment.
In this case Zelensky didn’t seem to intend that he would seek them. He just laments that Ukraine gave up the nukes it had from the Soviet Union. However, he probably does want them.
He might pursue them, but it would give Russia a new justification were he to publicly state that he’s constructing nukes.
No. Zelensky clearly stated this week to the EU that it would take Ukraine only "a few weeks" to make a bomb, that they had the material and the know-how. We know that they do have the know-how, since before being ruined after independence, Ukraine was the USSR's industrial center, where weapons, missiles and aircraft were built.
Except they have zero capability now. The Russians would detect any such effort and would eliminate it before it could be done. It would take months, if not years, and require at least one nuclear test.
Utterly impossible. It's the same thing with Iran – they can't do it without being nuked first by their enemies and wouldn't even try. The Ukrainians might be dumb enough to try.
They have the NPPs, they have the equipment needed, and their backwards ideology as the main driver. Never underestimate the power of ideology for getting dumb deeds done..
Let's be clear – he's not getting either one. Ukraine does not and can not build a nuke – let alone use one – before Russia would detect the effort and destroy it – and the rest of Kiev.
The real risk is that the US will supply a tactical nuke to Ukraine and then say "they did it, not us!" Which would be immediately discovered due to the radiation signature by Russia to not be the case and then the US gets nuked.
