Sen. Rand Paul has forced a vote on his amendment to repeal the 2001 Afghanistan war authorization and the 2002 Iraq war authorization. The vote is not on the amendment, but whether they can even have a vote on the repeal. This is the debate that terrifies both the House and Senate, as they don’t want the American people to stop and wonder why we are still in these endless no-win wars. Our take on Sen. Paul’s effort in today’s Liberty Report:

with no debate you have no democracy
Congress is a group of perpetual war mongers. Cowards who won’t debate and vote on war.
Congress is a group of bribed, blackmailed, and bewildered “place men” as we used to call them back in colonial times. They are just bit players in the reality theater that deceives Americans into believing their opinions matter. Decisions are not made in congress. “Place men” were governors and other colonial leaders sent by King George to replace colonial elected leaders. Their loyalty was obviously to the King’s interests not the colonies. Lots of them ended up tarred and feathered back when it was the home of the brave.
