  1. I support Ron Paul for president, and William ‘Braveheart’ Grigg as his vice-presidential running mate.

  2. Grigg’s report is brilliant and terribly scary. Oh, that to the horrors that now confronts the U.S.A., and that very sadly, we are causing other nations, there is a solution that will be allowed to prevail.

  3. As always, Grigg is a fountain of interesting facts, consistent analysis, and cogent commentary.

As far as DUI Trailers being a good example of dangerous corporatism, I don’t see them as a particularly good example of companies influencing or enabling government policy. I’d say those fall more under the category of corporations selling devices targeted to existing police demands.

Scott’s example of the sonic weapon is a more powerful example of how new police toys are enablers of oppression. Tasers are another good example which have found widespread use in recent years.

Thanks for the mention of Adam Smith’s clarity on corporatist businessmen. I was just arguing with the ‘progressives’ in #newsgarden on undernet IRC network, who were claiming Smith was pollyannish on businessmen’s motives. I always try to get them to listen to antiwar.com links to learn about principled anti-fascism.

Antiwar.com visitors (and contributors!) who want to chat live are invited to visit us in #RonPaul IRC chat – *the* place to talk about and get the latest Ron Paul news on line. Instructions for joining are at DailyPaul.

    Cheers!

  4. Excellent interview. I was surprised, however, to hear Mr. Grigg say that he couldn’t imagine a left-wing libertarianism. He might be interested in reading about the Spanish CNT/FAI in Catalonia before and during the 1936-39 period and the anarchist tradition in general. There are many “leftists” of libertarian but also communitarian instinct, and there is (or was) a libertarian, non-Marxist left from which those from the “conservative” libertarian tradition might learn. (And vice versa, of course…) In the spirit of overcoming stale left/right politics and building a broad-based, pro-liberty and anti-militarist movement, there should be less “leftist” bashing from libertarians. It strikes such a sour note. All in all though, a really good interview.
